Forums - Gaming - Most Polarizing Games Of All Time?

I always find it interesting when there comes a game where people opinions on it are mixed. Which games do you think were really polarizing? Some of the ones I have seen are Metroid Other M, Super Mario Sunshine, Final Fantasy XIII and Grand Theft Auto IV

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

I believe the forthcoming X-Com will also join the ranks.

Heavy Rain as well I guess. That is post release I mean because before it came out, it was CGI vs. everybody else!

- Metal Gear Solid 2

- Final Fantasy VIII

- Final Fantasy XII

- World of Warcraft

- Chrono Cross

- Shenmue

- Deadly Premonition

Kirby's Epic Yarn

SMW2 Yoshi's Island

I LOVE ICELAND!

I think I've never heard anyone talking bad about Shenmue.

Zelda II.  Nothing this gen even compares!

FFVIII was also pretty polarizing, as was MGS2 and The Wind Waker.  The most polarizing games usually have a "return to form" response following immediately afterwards (ie: ALTTP, FFIX, MGS3, Twilight Princess).

I dunno what the mot polarizing game is this gen... probably Wii Fit (lol).

A polarizing game tells the developer whats wrong and those mistakes don't happen again in the short terms, thats probably the reason for the "return to form" response. Except FFIX's as FFIX wasn't made by the FFVIII developers.

Actually, both Zelda and Super Mario 2 were very loved at their time. The myth of them being hated was created by hardcore people who didn't like them as the others around the last 3 generations.

Above: still the best game of the year.
