They just have to release FFVI and they will receive my money

This news has brought out two differing emotions for me.  For one I am happy it is coming to the VC.  On the other hand, I thought that the reasons I - IV had been released, but not V and VI were that S-E were planning a 3DS remake of V and then VI, which I want badly.  That's less likely now.

It looks like there are technical issues with the DS for remaking these games; so I doubt those games are coming to DS at all.... Even though they already had decent ports on GBA.

I would love to see a 3DS remake while maintaining the original art style. It would be really nice to see Ultima in 3D.... Imagine Luminaire or Dark Matter from Chronio Trigger on the 3DS....

I don't think we'll ever see this overseas. Square-Enix will probably stick to I, IV & VI.

If they do create a remake of V or VI, on 3DS, it will probably be a few years down the line. The main reason remakes weren't created using the FFIII and FFIV engine for the DS was because they wanted to do more.

With the 3DS they have that opportunity but at the same time, they now have to worry about doing 3D with it and they most likely want to see if the PSP2 will be any competition for it as well. All in all, they are some ways away from a true remake of either of those games and internal development for the next gen portables won't be so easy as well.

But since we are the subjects of remakes, I am sort of wondering with DS remake of VI done, will we see of remake of VII on the 3DS?
