The Wii's third party games aren't exactly up to par compared to the PS360's, so perhaps that's why.

And I blame Nintendo for that

Well, of course. They made subpar hardware. If, in terms of horsepower, the Wii was to the PS360 what the DS is to the PSP, then third parties could have made good games for Nintendo's home console.

the difference is the PSP does not sell software, the PS360 do.

generaly no it doesnt XD but it does have its moments of epicness in sales in japan :P

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

This thread seems more of the  " they didn't support the Wii" bullshit again. Blame the DS which has taken the major games in Japan. They have released one major FF game in the consoles while the PS2 enjoyed a couple. They have't release any DQ games on the consoles yet. We are comparing a full LTD of support to just acouple years. I am sure the PS3 and 360 numbers will increase.

Considering that the Wii has over 50% of the market and that the Wii has so far not received any large support from SE, as opposed to the PS3 and Xbox360, you can't really say it's "bull shit". Because it ain't. Not a single good game on Wii from them.

By the logic of your DS comment, FF13 and other games should have gone to either DS or PSP. But landed on the HD consoles. Previous gen, SE had a final fantasy out within one year of the release of PS2 and had released another 3-4 games in the next 2 years (Kingdom Hearts, Star Ocean, Unlimited Saga, can't remember the last one) so overall a good flow of good games for the market leader.

Today we see that SE basically shafted the Wii and it's hurting them financially and and image-wise. Especially if the best two games they had to offer so far in Japan were two dragon quest spin offs where one is a first person slasher and the other is a card-based rpg game with graphics from the ps2 era.

For me it's a blatant sign of wasted potential on SE's side.

FFXIII is one game, and a game many has bashed, what other games has SE released on the consoles the Wii should have had?

The Wii is not the PS2, it's not going to get even half of the major third party games when just dance is such a hit, when you can do much better selling casual games on it. SE'S biggest issue is FFXIII  which took forever and so much of their resources, and then that mess you call ff14.

Bolded part holds true but only for some type of casual games.  Furthermore SE didn't even try that. The problem is not that FF13 didn't come to Wii, the problem is that no decent game at all came to the Wii from SE. We say that the Wii will never be a PS2, well that's just because someone in the companies management is to thick to realize that they never actually gave a shot at it.

At this point SE doesn't have much to lose so they might as well try to make a game for the Wii outside of Dragon Quest X. i don't really mean something like final fantasy or kingdom hearts but something new, like last remnant was new this gen.

PS3 is barely 6m units in Japan vs the >11m units from Wii. SE had been banging it's head against the HD wall throughout the whole gen, why not try a different tactic? Make a solid effort on the Wii and there will be sales that will bring in the money.

how many new games have SE released on the PS3?

Men lie, women lie, numbers don't.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Regarding Wii software, the problem is most don't want to see sequels to games such as Kingdom Hearts on a system with graphics slighty above the PS2 when they imagine it using the potential of the PS3. Versus XIII is going to help SE a lot (better not make it multi-plat haha) on the HD, and hopefully spark KH3!

SE has had a lot of success with the Dragon Quest series on the DS, 358/2 days did pretty well, so sales on nintendo are possible.

The PSP has one big game, MH , that's it.  Software wise, if you look , they still have issues even in Japan.

SE isn't doing as well as it once was. However many of you guys should realize that no giants reign lasts forever. There will always be Rise and Fall periods. Square is having a tough time based off of stupid decisions it has made. Timed exclusitivity on a system that hardly any of its fanbase was on was ridiculously stupid. Also its constant need to re-do every game in their catalogue. As well as the fact that they haven't really released jack on the PS3 or Wii. So no wonder their sales are lower. Also the recent Final Fantasy XIV debacle isn't helping them.

Though many of you need to take a steo back and give square credit for something. They have released MANY good games this gen that seemed to be completely overshadowed. For example:

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (which is considered by many as the best PSP game of all fricken time)

Crisis Core (my personal favorite PSP game)

Dissidia (a very damn fine fighting game)

Final Fantasy XIII (sure it is hated by many, but just as many love it)

The Last Remnant (hated by critics but loved by many including myself)

I'm not saying that SE doesn't need to get its act together because they definitely do. However many of you criticize them to no end just because you can. Give them SOME credit.

Well i don't have all the data for who published what western game in Japan but from our database we have(as far as SE is involved) Front mission evolved, Nier, Just Cause 2, Star Ocean, Last remnant. So here we have 5 games i'm sure of plus about 3 or 4 games that were probably published by SE in Japan and we have of course final fantasy 13 and vs.

I think that the quality of the games kind of show what i'm talking about, as well as their sales for the most part.

If i lose access to this profile as well....I'm done with this site.....You've been warned!!.....whoever you are...

The implication of your argument is that S-E went to the DS because the PSP didn't sell software, but if you look at PS360 numbers before Final Fantasy XIII was released (which was just a year ago), they both combined amount to roughly the same number as their PSP software sales. So by that logic S-E should have greenlighted some more Wii games that should see a release before or within 2011.

The implication is simple, they havent release many games on any of the consoles. It's not a Wii issue at all. I can't think of 3 games square has done fo the consoles, the PSP has way more than that. Japan is a handheld country and SE decided to support the handheld market while mostly ignoring the consoles, that's my point, not a Wii blah blah again.
