Thats because Xenoblade is made by better developer. This also sounds promising though. |
As developers ill say Takeshi and Hironobu are equal on certain aspects but neither is better in my opinion.

I can't say that I am too excited about The Last Story, because big online features usually mean that the game is more of a chore to play alone. Just look at Monster Hunter. Anyway, I still have plenty of time to make my mind up about this game. It's not like it's going to release in Europe anytime soon. |
But the online features, from my understanding, are quite distinct from the main story. The "Monster Hunter" mode and the PvP mode both seem like fun bonuses, while the core of the experience is built around the single-player game, which is not the case with Monster Hunter

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
When it comes to main quest time, people seem to forget that Chrono Trigger wasn't exactly the longest RPG and that's generally considered among the best games ever released

Strange...I never found Tri's online to be labourious
However, this game sounds AWESOME! I'd be highly surprised if this and Xenoblade aren't sent over here...
Just 3 days until we find out for sure...

Is it possible to play MH3 without online and still enjoy it?

Above: still the best game of the year.

...yes. I have for 75 hours and enjoyed it
Not as much as online, but its still VERY GOOD

But that was one thing it was criticized for. 30 hours is pretty short in my opinion unless its an adventure rpg.
Sounds good to me. Fingers crossed for EU/NA release dates on Monday, or at least confirm it will be localised in 2011. It'd be a nice late Christmas present from Nintendo!

If you were saying this before DoD, I would agree: Xenosaga and Xenogears were some of the best RPGs ever.... but the dev team has slipped, A LOT, in a similar way Rare did.
The problem with Xenoblade is that it turned out to be WAY too spread out, a game with a lot of walking and fighting battles; a very dilute experience similar to Final Fantasy 13, but with an ugly art direction. The Last Story looks to be a much denser, more complex, and more satisfying experience without all of the fluff that Xenoblade has in it; and a good art style and gameplay that looks as though it has a chance at being revolutionary.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I don't tend to listen to other peoples opinions on JRPG's as nowadays I would struggle to name 1 JRPG not called Persona that is universally loved, people have all sorts of opinions on JRPG's in this generation (FF13's mixed response is proof of this). Back in the day I have heard lots of hating for Xenosaga when it launched and how it was so bad compared to Xenogears. I ended up loving it (even Xenosaga Episode II). I'll make my mind up on Xenoblade when I play it, which hopefully will be soon if Nintendo bring it over. I have full faith in Tetsuya Takahashi....if xenoblade resembled what you just told me it'll be my biggest disappointment of all time, so I hope I like it.
