This isn't very surprising news. As people have already pointed out, the game got mixed reaction and its been available for about a year already. Also those who wanted to play it probably already have, considering the Japanese used game market is great and the game itself probably went to the bargain bin long time ago.

360 doesn't do well in Japan, whats new? For what its worth, Kinect is doing surprisingly well.


Monster Hunter boosted hardware sales to 20k units on its launch week on 360 and Final Fantasy XIII saw virtually no increase, which is troubling considering that the 360 has been the better home for RPG's than the 360.

The Xbox 360 being a better home for RPGs than the Xbox 360, amazing!

Agreed, and while I almost gave up on XII I did however manage to drag myself through it, unlike XIII which is still sat at approx. 25hrs with no desire to continue the game 9 months after I last played it.

Hmmm... you do understand MHFO was a console exclusive for the 360. Hence, If PS3 also received MHFO than the 360 wouldn't have received that boost. That boost could have also been due to the 360 Slim launching at the same time.

There was no console sales boost from FFXIII on the 360 because PS3 was an option. It was a PS3 exclusive for about a year there.

There's nothing troubling about this. The 360 needs big exclusives to see a hardware boost. Otherwise people in Japan will just get a PS3. Simple as that.
