Personally, I didn't know what to expect. All I expected is Wii dominating holidays again.

Nintendo had the opportunity to lower their Wii projection further from 17.5m when they announced their results through Sept 2010. When they didn't, it was pretty clear they expected a huge (8-10m) holiday again for Wii. Weekly Wii sales got to 1.95m or so last year, so even with a big drop off, there was no reason to believe Wii wouldn't clear 1.7m or so this year (as it will this week, and next week).

where's the "Yes I did" option? :P

Around the Network

Yes. The holiday season is the only time many casual gamers would have a reason to buy a video game console for themselves or someone else. Naturally the Wii gets a disproportionally large boost during the holidays.

It's down in Japan, Europe, it seems America is where it's killing it.

Which is Kinect's and the 360's strongest region as well. This suggests that Kinect isn't really a threat to Wii sales like some people hoped/feared it is.

I dare you, It's the fastest selling electronic of all times, it has plenty of effect.
