Forums - General Discussion - When Did You Find Out Santa Wasn't Real?

When did you find out that Santa Clause wasn't real? And what was your reaction?

Me? Well I was about 6 or 7 and an older kid (10-11) told me. My reaction: I refused to beleive it and I bit him.

Please share your special story.

I ALWAYS knew he was fake since my parents said so to teach me the true meaning of Christmas.

Above: still the best game of the year.

I can't remember a time I actually believed he existed.

For one thing we didn't have a chimney for him to climb down. For another I always asked for a SNES and never got one :P

A fat old guy with a white beard usually isn't the guy who gives us Germans our presents.

So never believed in him.

Well i always knew he was based on a real person, really the only thing added to the mythology was the reindeer, everything else came from Saint Nicolas and the stories people told about him  in Greece, even the chimney and red suits.

Nope.

December 13th, 2002. I was 10 years old. My classmates had been trying to convince me he wasn't real. I refused to believe them, then things turned violent. This kid Tommy smacked me in the face, and I shoved him down and sat on him. The school called my parents and they explained all about how Santa wasn't real.

2-3 years before everyone else I knew.

Man did that suck.

My parents were crafty too... one year for example my Parents bought me an extra Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle vehicle because they knew I could use an extra one... and pretended that they and Santa just got me the same thing!
