There was to many "other" factors involved. Userbase and relase date are the biggest questions for me.

Im picking GT5, but I reserve the right to change that answer.

I'd say GT5. Wouldn't surprise me if it was close though to me it seems like the Gran Turismo series is Playstations most important important exclusove franchise. If it doesn't outsell MK Sony is in for a WORLD of hurt.

Some quick questions and points

1. What the heck is a Prologue for GT? They don't release those in the US.

2. What might be interesting would be to know the initial sales and attach rates for these games -- that could help show how much "legs" they had.

3. One big difference is that Sony released two full versions of its game on each generation of console while Ninetendo has been one-and-done for each machine (console or handheld).

Thus, I predict the combined sales of GT5 and GT6 may exceed Mario Kart Wii. But MK Wii will be greater than both, again because of the size of the install base.

 C'mon deadeye doesn't even know the Wii's basic philosophy, what makes you think he would know anything about the cantidates beyond what the news soundbites tell him

Perhaps your assumptions about the Wii's userbase and their buying habits arent exactly accurate either?
