Usually games that are geared towards children get a slightly more German name, but there are still exceptions like all Mario games for example.

This one is just fucked up. No reason to change the word order at all.

Either call it Epic Micky or Disney's epischer Micky, which sounds weird as well sind no one uses episch in German to describe something. Well besides the voice actors of Tony Hawk's Proving Ground of course. They say episch to everything and that makes the game even worse than it already is.

Yeah I just saw a commercial last night and the guy saying "Disney Micky Epic" just struck me out of nowhere.

I was like: WTF?

Its like "Nintendo Donkey Kong Bananas". Such a stupid nonsense name.

Haha, Faxanadu, I had to facepalm too when I've seen what they did with the german name of the game. I bet the title name of Kirby's Epic Yarn will be transformed into Epic Yarn Kirby's. Because logic.

According to Amazon the game is called "Kirby und das magische Garn" (Kirby and the magic yarn, for all non-german speakers) in Germany

And yeah "Micky Epic" doesn't make any sense at all. It's actually the wrong word order that way ("Micky episch" sounds stupid). Someone screwed up horribly with that title

The spelling of Mickey / Micky was always different in Germany. Like someone already pointed out, non-english speaking Germans would have pronounced the 'e', and Mickey was introduced in a time when command of English was far less common in Germany than today. 

Regarding the word order: No idea. They should have translated the title, or made up a totally different one, because 'epic' i not a well-known English word in Germany. Maybe they just wanted to put the iconic brand name first?

'Epic' is not necessarily an adjective. If you look up 'epic', it also translates to the (ancient Greek and) German noun 'Epos'. 

With names like "Epic Yarn" I wouldn't simply translate them word by word. For example, I just learned on Leo.org that "epic poem" means "Heldengedicht", and "heroic epic" means "Heldenepos". 

However, Micky Epic still makes no sense either way. People should really make up new names for translated movies and games.
