I wouldn't be so sure about that the ps3 has alot more going for it in the first half of 2011 then the 360 as far as I know. LBP2, Killzone, mass effect will all be coming out not to mention america (360's leading region) sells alot more consoles during the holidays then the other regions so I can see 360 falling a little more than ps3/wii after the holidays are done because emma and japan console sales don't inflate quite as much during the holiday months.

I'm not saying the 360 won't be infront of the ps3 because I honestly don't have a clue but the gap won't be massive either way they're both gonna be pretty close.

I think 360 will be up over last year due to Kinect.  The Wii will probably have the biggest drop off and PS3 should be slightly lower for the month over 2010. I don't see LBP2 giving PS3 much of a boost, if any.

January is probably a bit bigger than October in the West, and its way bigger in Japan. Wii numbers worldwide (and PS3 to a lesser extent) should be up over Oct 2009 simply because Japanese figures will be higher than in October, which is really when everything kind of dies in Japan for a little while.

The thing to watch actually is DS and PSP in Japan - if 3DS hype is tremendous we could see those systems both drop off pretty quickly in Japan given the large bases they have. Both DS and PSP have pretty strong sw in Dec-Jan though.

Last Story will probably help maintain the Wii holiday momentum a bit into early 2011 but Wii did have an RE game in early 2010 so its not dramatically different although the Wii isn't going to peak as high as it did in holiday 2009 (nor is PS3 actually). The Mario Collection game is also gone by mid-January, which doesn't help as it effectively removes an evergreen.

Q1 2011 is really fairly strong for software, so hw should be ok across the board. Its after that, in Q2 that we probably get price cuts for a machine or two.

This. And also, I think january will be pretty much like december in terms of positions. Things won't change a whole lot before the start of Q2 imo.

Nintendo will announce 3DS-price, people will start saving and all three consoles will suffer because of it

With the pseudo-price cut (Nearly every week had multiple retailers selling Wii for at least a $20 gift card) in December in NA for the Wii I expect the Wii to drop the most in January in NA. Dont expect Japan to pick up the slack in January simply because the holiday boost so far in Japan is lagging last year big time.
