The PS3 is doing very well in the US knowing it still has the weakest library of games compared to 360 (Halo 3, Forza 2, PGR4, Mass Effect, and Bioshock.) and Wii (SMG, Zelda TP, MP3, Wii Play.) and It is still expensive compared to the 360 Arcade, Premium and Wii.

You could say " Yeah but the difference in price between the 360 and PS3 is less then $100 so its not that big of a deal " but knowing what the 360 has to offer right now in terms of games it is.

off topic- I'm alittle surprised that the PS3 sold over 7 million units WW. I didn't think it would reach 6.5 million WW this year.

There is psychological name, for when people only look at the evidence that pleases them and can totally ignore much more obvious evidence, its some sort of coping mechanism.

Im just astounded how some fans of systems can only see a few obscure bits of evidence and not see other things that are as plain as day.

If you are going to speculate you have to take many factors into account and see the whole picture. You have got to realise what is happening NOW is much more relevant that happen 7 years ago, otherwise the arguments just descend into madness.

 Top drawer... But people behave as if PS3's future is set in stone after only 8-9 months in Europe/others and NA and has had no holiday season yet.  That's my point.

By looking at the sales in every region on its own you eliminate the sales difference that is caused by launching the system in different regions at different times.

Basically, if the PS3 is performing far worse in Japan, far worse in North America, and far worse in Europe only a moron would claim that the PS3 was performing at the same level as the PS2 because there was a 9 month relative (to the PS3's launch) delay in the North American launch of the PS2, and a 5 month relative (to the PS3's launch) delay in Europe.

The fact that the PS3's sales in North America, Europe and Japan is roughly equal to the performance of the PS2 in Japan alone is insulting to the PS3...

Edit: On your claim that the PS3 will outsell the PS2 in Europe, I think you need to consider that the PS2 was launched in December and was so supply limited that it could not take advantage of the Christmas season and the PS3 was launched in March. Right now that spike in the PS3's sales relates to the Christmas season, and the spike that is aproximately 4 months ahead for the PS2 relates to its first Christmas season. If you notice, the PS2 sold (roughly) 2.5 Million units in that holiday season while the PS3 will likely sell 1 Million units in Europe ...
