Forums - Sales Discussion - PAL Charts - Week 48

Yay, I was spot on! GT5 could sell 500k in EMEAA alone this week. I think the dropoff will be less steep in its stronger markets.

So 265k(UK) 235k(France) 92(Spain) 20k(Finland first day) 100k(Italy)=712k

EMEAA = 1174k(VGC) - 712k = 462k

Only 462k with Germany Portugal Netherlands .....rest Europe Africa Asia Australia ?

Yes, and Italy was actually "over 100k" so it could be anywhere from 100-150k I think. I think EMEAA fw sales are undertracked maybe a tiny bit, probably around 100k.

yeah probably but not much more going by these numbers. Though 100k are still in the margin of error.

Germany is a smaller gaming market than France so 190k there (assuming same attach rate as France) and Portugal and Netherlands together might be as big as Spain.

Attach rates:

EMEAA (VGC numbers): 5.9%
UK: 7.5%
France:  8.46%
Italy: 5.36% (for 100k)

Going by that ratio GT5 sold between 1.4-1.5 million in EMEA last week.

keep falling NFS,

i want it cheapo

                                                                                                                                        Above & Beyond

Dk number 13 in Uk is decent. But i want more of course! MJ adn JD2 step it up! wow... Epic Mickey rises one spot!!!! :P

No Germany is equal or bigger than France for Gran Turismo series.

Over 200k (like France) is my bet for Germany.

There are more PS3 owners in France, overall France is a bigger market than Germany (only counting console and handhelds) and France has the highest attach ratio of all countries so far. Not saying it's impossible, but it seems a bit unlikely that German sales are that close to France.
Even the 190k figure is already pretty much the optimum of GT5 sales and unless there are any studies or hard numbers, there is no reason to assume that GT is more popular in Germany than in France.

yeah well also depends on the other markets like Africa, East Europe and Asia (- South Korea) where I think people in general buy less games than the average guy in Europe. These countries represent 5.8 million PS3 owners and I wouldn't be surprised if the attach rate in these countries is about 6% while it's a bit more than 7% in Europe.

So probably around 1.3-1.35m overall.

Goldeneye won't budge.

DK opened low, but it will do better next week.

It was actually advertised on prime time so I think it will go up quite a bit. X-Factor advert spots again, just like Wii Party. Disney should do the same!
