Forums - Sales - Amazon bestsellers list and changes, Wii/Nintendo strong

I've been looking at Amazon charts, I check them regularly at all times of year. Yeah yeah, Amazon doesnt show true sales etc.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/videogames/ref=pd_ts_zgc_vg_video_games_display_on_website_more?pf_rd_p=1280315202&pf_rd_s=right-6&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=468642&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0HG278AT0JJR9WS10G2Z

Basically what i am seeing lately is a big surge for all nintendo related products, wii, DS, etc.

PS3 and 360 in turn have fallen down, but 360 is holding up better partly because of Kinect and Kinect games.

For example, many times I will count all the PS3 and 360 games in the top 100, typically this year, it has been 20-25 of each in the top 100. Right now it's only 16 360 and 8 PS3.

So there you have it. Nintendo getting a holiday bump. 360 2nd strongest at Amazon.

Never done one of these before, but I figure this is needed:

"In before baby seals"

Most of the time, Nintendo products are top on Amazon aside from game releases like Halo or Call of Duty.

My prediction is Xbox or Playstation will retake the top after Christmas.

What up with this baby seals joke?

I've lurked on this site for a while now and I've posted a bit too. I understand most of the jargon on here and its connection to real life, but I can't seem to understand this "baby seals" analogy. I suppose it has something to do with anecdotal evidence, but would you mind explaining it?

Anyway, though how much something sells on Amazon is probably insignificant, surges could easily represent higher demand everywhere, which is good, :D.

O... wait..

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Found it surprising to see Epic Mickey stay up there in number 3 for almost a week.

well the 360 is in 16th place and all of the 250gig skus are sold out.

While the wii is 24th, 29th place. So hardware is actually stronger for the 360, but honestly isn't amazon a very very small percent of the marketshare.
