I'm pretty sure DK didn't have that much to do with the sales.  The Wii is just the Wii during the Holidays.

Software doesn't have that much to do with selling the hardware? What does then?

Lol have you been following the Wii?  It does some amazing crap without a constant influx of games.  The console sustained itself for months off basically one killer app.    It being Black Friday and the Wii being the "IT" thing to get, that to me is what drove sales.  DK's impact is probably insignificant in comparison, even if it did cause a bump.

It's probably bundles DKCR JD2  Michael Jackson experience seasonal games(sonic, wii party, kirby, golden eye, CoD...) evergreen titles the fact it is called a wii lots of BF offers....

I would add that the Wii really is also being sustained by reputation more than the individual games.  It is the library and the reputation that sells the Wii now.  The current customers dont pay attention to what games are coming out they know what is out there and they know that for a few years now the Wii has been a good gift.  Nintendo could have totally blown off introducing new software this fall and the sales would still be there with the bundles and the temporary price reductions.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Excellent numbers. Go Nintendo!

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I wonder how the sales look for all platforms...

I agree.  And the games do help a bit, but consumers know what they're getting with a Wii at this point.  Also, I think a large portion of people aren't getting it for themselves, but for people in their families  or friends.  Hence it being huge now.

Great numbers, as expected by some people. Can't wait to get numbers this week... I want to see how software did, especially DK

mmm so we will never know how many HW DKCR boosted!!! but stills i think it'll do great 'cause what i've read in other thread, it sold out as well as JD2.. can't wait to see JD2, these numbers will make everyone dance!!
