EA happened.

Hey EA are good, they actually make good games without selling out, they're not activision

WRONG

- Dead Space on-rails is a cheap sell out.

- NBAJAM without online play is a cheap sell-out.

- No advertising for many of their games (especially Wii and DS titles) is a cheap sell-out.

As far as im concerned EA have made MILLIONS off of Sports Active on the Wii and they deserve to pay their fucking dues to Nintendo for that success. I didn't even know NFL Training Camp Wii existed, didn't know Create was out at retail and I can only assume (as per usual) that NFS HP Wii fucking sucks.

No third-party deserves my sympathy for wat they did to the Wii this gen. Excuse my language!

Dead Space Extraction SUCKED HARD!!!!!!! I can't believe I bought that game.

NBA Jam without online is a rip-off. If they expect to sell millions for a half-assed Wii game with no online and no advertising, then they have another thing coming.

Create has been out for about two weeks, you would have known if EA marketed the game.

NFL Training camp or whatever the heck that was isn't even available at stores in my area. Eviedently EA just made that game to cash in on the brand.

As for other 3rd parties, what about Capcom, or Sega?

I never knew it was on the HD consoles. Who cares?

Essentially the people saying EA happened are correct. This is the next in a line of games for the Wii that were just half assed. The proof is in the pudding on this one. Twice in recent memory EA has essentially admitted that their Wii games are not worth a full retail release. Dead Space Extraction, and now NBA Jam were both slapped on a disc to be sent out to retail release on Wii while being just little extras for retail games on the PS360. This time though they pushed it out on a retail disc for the PS360 and we see what happened. Half assed games just don't sell.

I had a conversation with one of my brothers about this game over Thanksgiving.  He rarely plays videogames himself, but rather owns a Wii for his three kids.  This was his response to me.  "What?!, they made a new NBA Jam?!"  "I didn't know that, I'll have to get it."  Essentially EA did a terrible job of catering to what I would consider one of their biggest audiences – people that played and loved the original but haven't played games in a while.  He doesn't care that it's $50.  He is your quintessential casual gamer and he would have loved to have known about this game so he could actually buy it.

I am not offering this as anecdotal evidence that everyone would feel the same as my brother, but I think thousands more would buy it for the nostalgia alone if it were advertised properly.

Anti-wii conspiracies aside, the main reason the game bombed was the $50 dollar price. WTF is that shit. Glad the game bombed, it should have been a downloadable game at the very least. The game is fun, but not worth that much.

The casuals don't want it. They only want Wii___ and Mario.

What about the hardcore?

On Wii, when a game have low sales always is the casual's fault. That's what I learn thanks to the hardcorez. On the other consoles, I don't know. Maybe the problem is EA instead the users?

I played a bit of the Wii version. I didn't like the motion controls. And the gamepad controls weren't quite ideal. Playing with the Wiimote sideways cramped my hands and the classic controller utilizes the right stick for shooting, dunking, shoving, etc. which I didn't like. I take it that the Xbox 360/PS3 versions also use the right stick. I liked the old Genesis/SNES gamepad controls for Jam. That all said, the 2010 version of NBA Jam is still a good game. I'm going to rent the Xbox 360 version later since it has online.

A game like this has a lot of appeal but when you consider the low level of advertising, the Wii version having no online and the Xbox 360/PS3 owners being miffed that the game was sold at retail for $50 instead of being sold for $15 as a XBL/PSN title like they thought it would, it makes sense.

I didn't even know its release date. I have seen not one commercial for it. Wii or HD
