Forums - Microsoft - Super Mario being controlled by Kinect

that is so cool!

Yeah that looks like a pain but I suppose with some practice it would become easier. Still, the game was originally made for a handheld controller so it makes sense that the Kinect control scheme would not translate well.

Haha. Excellent. :D

Haha, that's awsome! Some additional tweeking would be needed to make it work better though.

It's quite funny to see but nobody would seriously play the game like this for more than 5 minutes.

And that's exactly the reason why Kinect-only controls only theoretically, but not practically works with traditional games. You can of course force Kinect controls onto pretty much every game, but the result will either be frustrating and vastly inferior to the traditional controller (with a controller you would easily be three times as fast in Super Mario) or the developers have to oversimplify the controls (for example on rails movement in 3D games, automatic speed control in racers etc.)

I got to admit if platformers come for Kinect that play like this then man I'd loose lots of weight. To bad I live on the second floor in an apartment. Jumping and running in place would make to much noise! But like others said who would play this longer then 5-15 minutes.

I hope to see platformers and shooters and other games controlled by Kinect. Their is alot of potential!

You should change the thread title to "My Penis Controlled By Kinect".  That video gave me an uncontrollable stiffy.

Its a game where you do nothing but run and jump... nobody ever said Kinect wasn't capable of that.

That looks fun...
