this graph is good

I have a feeling about this graphic after adjustments.

ROFL

What adjustments?

Next fiscal quarter.

Yes, when the big three announces the results. But I dont know what is funny about the graph and what causes the feeling.

Because there are always big adjustments so this graphic...

My felling... 360 on spot... Wii overtracked a little... PS3 undetracked like always.

The last quarter Wii was adjust up. PS3 was undertracked on EMEAA, and I think that this numbers are almost spot-on. Sorry, but I dont think that PS3 sells better than Wii on holiday, only in Japan this year.

Me too... I don't thing PS3 sold better than Wii but I don't believe Wii sold so much better than PS3... that's the worst year for Wii.

Nintendo said 17.5M Wii this year so those numbers are normal... they are at 12M now so they need 5.5M after this week.

How many more weeks left ?? their will be 1M weeks for Wii , not sure if for Ps3 this year.

That's for fiscal year... four months left.

And Sony said 15m... so 2.5m below Wii.

Maybe VGC on spot but I have a different felling.

WTF, lol. How is this outselling SSFIV, I'm sure something must be wrong?

You guys should quote other people but delete the past frames of quotation.

Its annoying to be seeing the same stuff endless times just because of 4 or 5 posts.

HAha yeah, it's never the new games that boosts Wii sales. That would make too much sense.. People seem like to point to everything BUT the real reason for Wii sales; the games..

Wii Party, Goldeneye, Kirby, Just Dance 2, Sonic Colors, and ANTICIPATION for DKC, Mario Allstars, Michael Jackson, and Epic Mickey are the major RECENT releases this year that are helping sell consoles. And yes, earlier evergreen titles and bundles as well, mainly the continued strength of NSMB.

If it is only games releaesed in previous years that are lifting Wii sales, then I must refer you back to your own question: Why didn't those evergreen titles of 2008 and 2009 keep the conosle on top?

It is a combination of new and old games, as well as bundles.

Wii Party isn't new. Kirby isn't new. Just Dance 2 isn't new. All 3 of those games released over a Month and a half ago. That isn't new. Wii Party released in the West almost exactly 2 Months ago (It's been out for 20 weeks in Japan, which is coincidentally the same amount of time that the PS3 overtook it and won what, 17 straight weeks or something?). If you want to go as far as 2 Months back, then I can give you a pretty huge list of "new" releases on the PS3 and 360 too...

As for Sonic and GoldenEye. If you think those 2 games are system sellers... And Assassin's Creed, Kinect, Need for Speed and Fable aren't, then it outlines how much bias you really do have. Assassin's Creed has sold more on the 360 alone Week 1 than both those games combined so far. And if you're adding on "anticipation" games, yet you leave out Gran Turismo 5, Tales of Graces F, Final Fantasy XIII International... Well. Yeah. I don't even need to say it. You get the idea. If you need to add in games that aren't even released into the data then you're just grasping at straws.

I never said it was only the 2008/2009 games selling hardware. I said it was MAINLY those games, and bundles of those games that were selling hardware... Along with it being at a very affordable price. They didn't work throughout the rest of the year as well as usual because Nintendo basically didn't care. I hardly saw any advertisement for them at all in the UK... Then bang. Holiday season hits, Nintendo blow there load, every adbreak on TV had at least one Wii game and one DS game advertised.

Throughout the year, Wii sales lacked (when comparing to the Wii of past Years/Months) but it still sold fairly well despite spending a lot of weeks in 2nd or 3rd place. The "evergreen" titles didn't keep it on top then. It's not solely the "evergreen" titles putting it on top now. it's a mix IMO of the 3 factors I mentioned. It's NOT any "new" titles as you say it is. Obviously Wii Party and Just Dance 2 have some effect. It's nothing major though.

Alright, alright what the hell do you want from me? Fine, HD consoles had plenty of hardware movers, but Wii is starting to get them too. DKC being the big one. I'm just saying Black Ops was the only recent MAJOR one for both HD consoles.

I just find it aggravating that  no one ever seems to believe me when I say that Wii's library is finally starting to get much stronger for the first time since NSMB Wii last year, (especially since it's very obvious) thus its sales are again on the rise and shooting past the HD consoles.

What exactly is the point you are trying to make here, that recent Wii releases are not causing some of the RECENT Wii sales? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?

As for the price thing, that is just a weak argument. Wii has ALWAYS been an affordable price. Yes, the bundles are also a reason, I agree with that.

"Told you so" would be relevant here wouldn't be?

This time, I want to congratulate every platforms. Every platforms.

Congratulate Microsoft for trying hard to keep up to the competition. Very honorable.

Congratulate PS3 to have conquer the heart of EMEAA.

Congratulate Wii for the impressive resurgence.

Congratulate DS for conquering soon enough the best selling console of all time statue

PSP for dominating Japan with Monster Hunter releasing soon!

This is a very fair holiday for everybody, with great titles all around. DKCR next week!!!!!!!!!

Flop of the week:  NBA Jam for HD consoles.  Xbox 360 version 1st week sales were 15,000.  PS3 wasn't even in the top 200 @ 10,000 in sales.

I was expecting EA to see superior HD sales and then point the finger at the lackluster no-online Wii version.  However, at this point, Wii is outselling both versions.

thought I'm the only one noticing NBA JAM sales.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I'm with you

I think a few people are disappointed with this weeks sales

Because "I have a feeling" doesn't bring reason to the discussion.

Wii party does move consoles as do the evergreen titles NSMBWii,

Dance2 also, It is also a combination of the holidays

And DK will have the biggest effect on hardware

The sales history of the 3 consoles can be viewed and will clear up any "confusion" why the wii and ds are first and second this week.

These sales doesn't make sense.

Please, someone tell me why Wii is top.

And dont say its because its Nintendo product and its holiday, tell me a reason.

Lol - that is the reason!

But let me add more that'll make it clearer.  The Wii, far more than the 360/PS3, is seen as an ideal gift for Christmas.  Obviously the 360/PS3 can be gifts too, and they will be, but the Wii receives a far bigger Christmas gift bump.

Why?  Because every year there is a whole new batch of 5, 6, 7 or 8 year old neices, nephews, grandchildren, sons, daughers, etc. for whom the Wii is judged ideal, fun and for all the family.

Despite Kinect/Move neither the 360 nor the PS3 has that kind of image yet (as an aside the PS2 did and the fact the PS3 has lost this association is more of a reason for it's sales than the 360) and are bought for older nephews, etc.  however, the numbers favour the Wii with the broader potential appeal base and the far stronger brand recognition as an ideal gift.

So, probably, the Wii will outsell the PS3 or 360 pretty much every week from now on until the end of the Christmas season.  If Kinect and/or Move hit home then next year, at the same time, we might see some changes, but even with all the marketing the odds are against Kinect/Move vs Wii at this point.  They will not be able to overcome many years of successful brand building that quickly.

The fact the Wii arguably has more evergreen titles - i.e. they appeal as much now as at launch - also helps it in this regard.  That's why it is less reliant on new titles at this time of year than the PS3/360.

All clear?

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

for most people the wii is more a toy- a gadget than the other two
