Forums - Nintendo - The starters for Pokemon Black and White have their official English names.

Isshu Region is now the Nuova Region.

Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott. They don't really sound all that great to me, especially Tepig.

Not good sounding names, who cares I'll still can't wait to play it

I'm not "getting" Tepig. The other two make a bit of sense, but what's the "Te" in Tepig for? Maybe Tepid, and the other evolutions will sound progressively hotter?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Quite horrible.

Zomg Teh Pig!!!!

Snivy... Snake/Ivy.

Tepig... ZOMG TEH PIG! (Tepid/Pig)

Oshawott... No idea. Ocean/Water/Otter?

I prefer smugleaf myself

Best thing I can think of for Oshawott is that it's also the name of a city in Ontario, Canada. Do they have otters around that area?

Anyways, I think it's a bit silly for people to complain over the names because you can just change their names to whatever you want.

Yes, although the entire area of Ontario tends to have them (despite not seeing them). If this logic is correct then they should of used the capital's name. I am not familiar with it, however I did pass through it during a major storm.

I have checked Bulbapedia and you are correct.

Wait... are we talking Oshawa or Ottawa? I live an hour and a bit from Oshawa

I miss the classic 151. Whatever happened to simple names like Squirtle and Rattata?

Oshawa is where it gained its name and Ottawa is where I passed through a storm.
