If it were something as rediculous as if you had to submit to a body scan  to shop at Wal-Mart, I would agree, that's rediculous and not needed but when you fly, you're flying on something that can easily become an extremely dangerous weapon.

If I have to choose between being that much safer or you having to deal with body issues, I'm going to choose being that much safer every time.

Luckily boats and buses while they could be dangerous (OMG Speed!) aren't nearly as dangerous as planes and I agree, putting a full body scanner on a bus would be stupid.  That simply isn't needed and there are better ways to be secure.  For planes though, with people actively trying to turn them into massive weapons, we have to do something.

Take a bus, and pile it with explosives. Slam it into the local stadium during the next NFL game. I promise you that it will result in a higher casualty rate. Hell carry on a bomb in a suitcase. Wait to get to the scanner, throw it into the middle of the room and BIG BADA BOOM! The threat from air based terrorism is extremely over-blown.

Sure if the porn is a really crappy grainy black/white-ish image.

Seriously? Its seen by someone offsite who scans hundreds of people every day.... kinda like a doctor/nurse. Just not that big of a deal.

Only issue I see is ensuring the pics are auto-deleted when there is no issue with the person. Fire a few people for by passing the auto-delete and that problem will sort itself out quickly.

Except they aren't insuring it is auto deleted which is a fucking no brainer to set-up. Why is there any non-volatile memory outside of what is absolute necessary to run the machine? How can you trust the TSA when they have come out as being incompetent in the management, and flat out wrong on the specifics? These machines have a lot of different settings. Some give ya images that a Muslim would be ok with. Others not so much. These are used for virtual strip searches. Think about that, and how ineffective the TSA has proven they are in regards to insuring proper etiquette with any of the details.

Which is why some massive firing with massive fine needs to be associated to fix. Its a simple fix and all that is really necessary.

Still, I'm ok with these as it provides a far more secure setup and far less invasive than a real pat down/search.

Actually, there is doesn't work either. My Arab sister in law was refused entrance because a cousin of hers who happened to be going at same time but not really together wrote an anti-Israeli article. They both were put in a jail for 24hrs before being set back out. It was increadibly wrong and unjustified.

I am not one to claim Israel has the best system. Ours, however, has created a criminal out of someone who simply refused to go through the measures and left. He is facing massive fines, and possible jail-time. Just as wrong and unjustified.

Secure in what way? The threat that caused this would not have been detected. You have just objected to a less invasive, and more effective method. So where is the line? What precisely is considered a fair trade-off security for liberty wise?

Simple profiling (like the Isrealis do) is far more effective and far less invasive. But that would involve Americans not being god damn retarded.

And the people who didn't write anti Isreal articles got through no problem. The 24 hrs is way too much to hold them, but other than that it seems effective.

BS. Its only effective because its racist. She was Arab (not muslim) and was targetted. She and her family have no criminal backgroud or links to terrorists. The cousin that was just coincidently on same plane (they didnt' even realize until they say eachother in NY) wrote some articles in his university paper. Nothing more than the typical Israel is wrong/should be brought up on international law charges etc. No violence. They put them in jail like criminals, with little water and one sandwich for a day. Then escorted them back to a play back out. Never got her luggage back either.

Israel's policies would never work in any civilized part of the world.

Because theirs a huge amount of white, Asian and black people flying planes into buildings. Isrealis use psych profiling as well, making it even better.

To put it this way, If I was hunting mafia I would certainly focus on Italians. Does that make me racist?

Secure in that every passenger and attendant had a visual check in any are they could conceal anything. The visuals are off-site and therefor not embarrassing as a physical pat down or having to remove clothing. No one is touching my wife or kids, yet we have all been 'searched'. That, to me, is a fair trade-off for better security. Its no different than having nurses and doctors all up your business at a hospital, in fact its better as the people 'viewing' the horribly poor quality image are not even there.

How quickly we forget about 9/11. I guess its going to take another 3,000 people to die in a terrorist attack for people to stop whining because they are embarrassed to get in the full body scanner. Here are a couple options to get over that problem.

1. Go to the gym if you are embarrased about your body.

2. Don't fly on a plane.

One of those options should fix the problem.
