I only notice it because it affects my console of choice. Otherwise, why should I care? |

Kinect just sold 1.1 million units in one week and it took Move how long to sell 1.5 Mill ?
First weeks sales.. Kinect does 327,000 in Europe ( where both console are almost even in userbase ) and Move only did about 150,000 .. Kinect does 500,000 in America first week ( Xbox 360 is way ahead there ) and PS3 only did 60,000.. The big surprise is Europe. Kinect did 50% more sales then Move in week 1 where both consoles are virtually tied..
Seems like Kinect will be dominating Move by Christmas..

You mean 327,000 in one week? The 1.5 million figure was in Europe alone, over the period of 1 month.

You can't play Heavy Rain with Kinect so it doesn't matter. ;)

Those days are long gone and I'm pretty comfortable they know they will need to ensure - themselves - that Move gets plenty of support initially to push the install base to where third party developers will support it. I also think they took the Wii Too approach as the almost identical control schemes mean delivering a title to Wii/PS3 with motion controls is now a doddle - so they no doubt expect to see a lot of titles target both consoles also helping their cause. |
It's true they know what they need to do to get support, but without real incentives like less royalty fees or some money for development, third parties are always likely to go with whats easiest and takes less effort to develop. On Wii you only see Classic Controller support as often as you do because it is quick and easy to do that, the Wii remote seems to be hard for developers to wrap their heads around so having an easy out helps them, but they still can't make a game Classic Controller exclusive cause they don't want to limit their install base.
Like it took years before third parties realized motion with the Wii remote in an FPS SUCKS and hurts the game/controls, so they realized the nunchuck is perfect for those motions, and now controls on the Wii trump those on dual analog controllers by far, GG making Killzone 3 with Move didn't seem to get that memo and mapping motions to the move, so I'm also thinking how long are these developers going to take to realize some basic flaws in their own motion designs like developers did with Wii, people aren't going to buy games that are hard to control, so if people don't "want" Move controls in developers eyes it can also hurt future support.

Just a note on that, apparently Move is pretty easy to work with. The developers of R.U.S.E. thinks so anyway.

And Ruse with move controls blew so their credibility is shot to hell
