This is a competition that Kantor and I are hosting in celebration of what many (with good taste) feel is the greatest fim franchise in history! There will be a thread on every other day, beginning with The Phantom Menace, and going right up to Return of the Jedi... and perhaps beyond.

Synopsis (Warning: May Contain Spoilers):
Darth Vader and the Empire are building a new, indestructible Death Star. Meanwhile, Han Solo has been imprisoned, and Luke Skywalker has sent R2D2 and C3PO to try and free him. Princess Leia - disguised as a bounty hunter - and Chewbacca go along as well. The final battle takes place on the moon of Endor, with its natural inhabitants, the Ewoks, lending a hand to the rebels. Will Darth Vader and the dark side overcome the rebels and take over the universe ?

Fun Fact -- This is the first Star Wars film to show a lightsaber combat something other than another lightsaber. Luke on the Sail Barge fights guards with staffs and blasters. In Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980), a lightsaber is seen only fighting another lightsaber. It should be noted that Obi-Wan's removal of Ponda Baba's arm does not count as a fight - but could be considered a combat between a lightsaber and another weapon.

Rotten Tomatoes: 78% Positive Reviews (Fresh), Average Rating 6.7/10
Metacritic: 52% Review Average (Generally Favourable)....Remember that Metacritic for movies is different to that of games. Very few movies get over 80%, which would be defined as Universal Acclaim.
