I think that a PSP 2 may be announced at E3, but won't reach Japan until 09 and the rest of the world even later.

Well one thing stands certain me though. I think Sony will have a large bunch of 3rd party revealings this next year, and in general lot more games to be shown that we dont even know about. Which ever conference they choose to do this at, will be big. There's alot of games that I want to see, also I dont think E3 will be big anymore, I think GDC is the new thing.

New IP's don't seem to be doing that well on the PS3. I think MGS4 will sell very well, but if PS3's sales go back to pre holiday 2007 level and 3rd party sales don't pickup really soon I think the 360's #'s might become unreachable. The 360 seems pretty stable in the US, especially in the software dept. I think Sony is going to have to trounce the 360 in hardware sales in order to catch up in third party software sales.

2008 e3 i think will be awsome

xbox 360, ps2 are my consoles

 end of generation predictions: wii 106 million Xbox 360 59 million PS3 57 million

GTA IV sales are going to be ludicrous. I think whomever gets the casuals to buy it on their system is going to get a huge boost in sales. I remember when the first GTA came out I had friends who never played video games buy the Playstation and only played that one series of games.

GTA IV will sell very well on PS3/360 and push hardware, 360 will get US and PS3 probably get Europe. I think GTA fans in Europe will buy it for PS3, and 360 will sell 3-1 vs PS3 in US.

All of those are good things to look out for. I think Nintendo need to attain a few more third party games. Also, the sooner the third party RPG games get to the market for Wii, the better.

 I rekon E3 is still going to be the biggest, but I would expect more of a spread of announcements

MGS4 is important but I think Little Big Planet and GTA IV sales will be more telling.

 I completely agree, GTA IV is a mass consumer brand and LBP has mass consumer appeal.  As good of a game as MGS4 is shaping up to be it simply doesn't have the kind of audience interested in it that the other two games do and as a result it will most likely have a smaller impact on the PS3.

To Each Man, Responsibility

When the first GTA came out nobody outside of gaming geek circles really cared. The first two were pretty well selling games, but nothing spectacular. With number three they finally reached the market of "people who don't like games, but enjoy the idea of shooting people" and sold octopule digits. =P

But yeah, GTA4 is bound to attract the same huge crowd that loved the last three parts, although sales will probably be lower due to the HD consoles still being out of the casual gamer's price range. And make no mistake, the huge sales of the GTA franchise came mostly from people who don't play other games much, in other words casuals.

Here I go, blabbering completely off-topic again. ;__;

It's going to take Sony awhile to be able to get the temp down low enough to offer slim PS3s. IBM's Power6 architecture is white-hot and the process will have to get down to 32nm before they can even consider slimming down that heat-box.

So, consider it EXTREMELY unlikely that we'll see a PS3 Slim within the next 20 months. 32nm is still a ways away (at least for IBM architecture).

Of course, the same principle applies to the 360. It is also based on Power6.
