What do you do when you max out in Final Fantasy... You do side quests and get more of the story... Jesus Role Playing Games aren't defined by leveling up it's defined by playing a role and questing how you want to, nothing more, the rules and standards of role playing can vary greatly from designer to designer, sometimes not even having a leveling system rather an equipment system ala Monster Hunter or WoW after you reach level 80 or in this case Fallout when you hit 20/30. |
lol but Final Fantasy is a complete different situation, by the time you actually max everyone out there's pretty much nothing left to do. The main problem I have with the cap being so low is that all my stats are not even close to being maxed, my lockpick just barely got to 75 how the hell am I going to open stuff that's level 100, I'm already missing out on stuff.
@Scottie, but the cap in Fallout 3 is ridiculously to low, that's what I'm bitching about.

Seems pointless to do all the side missions now that I know I'll be missing out on all the experience points. |
Perhaps for the story or fun gameplay? Thats why I usually play any game.

Any game yes, but when your playing an RPG game for 30 hours then all of a sudden the RPG of the game get's takin away, it's quite simply just bull shit. And like I already said, I beat the game already I'm just doing side mission and playing around right now.
OH BTW worst ending ever.

That's complete BS just about every single FF has monsters you have to be maxed out to beat, Emerald and Ruby Weapon in VII, Ultima Weapon in VIII, I mean knowing the areas to level too, in FFVIII you can be level 99 before you beat the story no problem, and that game JUST LIKE Fallout enemies scale to your level and its all about the junctions you create and equipment you have and thats the exact same thing Fallout does, at level 20/30 its all about your equipment and stat bonuses.
The whole point to RPGs is playing a role and making choices, if you don't make it to level 100 in lockpicking it's your choice as you can easily get 100, will you have to sacrifice something else? Yeah but what would choices be without weight and its the whole point, you roll a new character and play a different way, were you good before? Well now be evil.
This is what role playing is all about, if you like how Final Fantasy does it from time to time then stick to that but don't try to say role playing games don't have a point cause you have level cap or you'll make kittens cry.

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"
Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000
That's the whole point of having the option to choose which skill to level up.
Would be pretty pointless if you could max out every single stat.
And btw. I bet there are still a lot of skill books in the game about lockpicking that you didn't found yet.
