You can say whatever you want, but Kinect isn't an innovation, it isn't the first of it's kind and (as you agreed earlier) it isn't a significant event in gaming history.

Ofcourse its an innovation. The Kinect is innovative technology.
When did I agree "it isn't a significant event in gaming history." The title of thread asked do I think ITS THE BIGGEST EVER. That's what I responded to.
I do think the Kinect is significant. I said it'll be one of the most memorable things this gen. Any gaming website that matters is discussing it. MS is giving it one of the biggest marketing campaigns ever. Even Sony spent time and money to bash it. That's pretty damn significant in my eyes.

Your ideas of innovation are convoluted and your standards for industry changing significance is extremely low.
The things being done with Kinect, which is random shovelware, has been done with the Eye Toy, Move, Wii and PS2. HD, 3D and precise shovelware is still shovelware and it provides no improvement on the current format that we are currently using. The voice recognition is inaccurate, the controller free menu systems are slow, the games are janky and outside of dancing games, it's not improving our current gaming experience. Say what you want, but Kinect isn't an innovation, it's a cash in, it's aiming for an easy market and it's reselling old experiences to an audience that doesn't know any better. You could say that it's software, but I can only see an improvement on methods that are already obsolete with a different device, which is the normal gamepad.
Our ideas on innovation are obviously different, I've made my point, but I don't think we'll agree with each other. Good for you I guess, I just can't see how anyone can look at two gaming cameras and say that one is so much different, that they shouldn't even be categorised under the same format, which is camera based motion games. You also seem to skip over a lot of points, that's annoying, but I do admit that I write way too much.
