Guess what, The HD graphics novelty have worn off too...

Hell yeah. It's shown to be eye candy, and that's it. Okay, expensive and time consuming eye candy, and that can even get in the way of content (FFXIII not having any towns).

Yep the HD graphics/consoles appeal have worn off, even if the 360, and HD console, is the only system up YoY, while matching it's previous year's price.

Come on people, everyone isn't going to like everything. It's just their take, they're allowed to have that.

Um, the 360 just proves the system got better sales than last year. You can't just assume that means HD graphics have more appeal, just because the system happens to have that. Last I checked, the sales shot up after the redesign, a redesign which is more reliable than the old one. That kind of says that reliability in hardware is appealing, not the graphics.

"It easy to scream growth when living so long with low sales."

"Before you say anything, make 1 original Wii game, then Wii can talk."

"You cannot buy what doesn't exist".

Since everybody else is using outdated and abused quotes, I wanna speak in quotes too.

Whatever you want to call it, the system is on the right side of things. And again, I'm not sure why some of you personalize this so much. Not everyone is going to always put the Wii in a positive light, just like any other console.

I wasn't calling on his comments, just agreeing that HD graphics are just as much of a novelty as motion controls supposedly are. If you paid attention to the full context of what I posted, you would realize that.

And the 360 had better have been on the right side by now, since it was on the wrong side for too long.

Oh well, anyway thanks Ready at Dawn for....uhm...trying? to make..eh.. good games on the wii?

The only thing they have done is a port of a PS2 game. They have never ever tried to make anything for the console so why are there complaining?

And the "wii collects dust" is just absurd. The only people that would play all day all week are nerds and geeks that have nothing better to do. The real world, which i she one that bought the wii, has jobs, families and obligations and the wii, like TV is a pass-time.

Besides I know many acquaintances that have Xbox'es and rarely play with them.

This absurd hardcore internet trolling towards the wii is getting boring and absurd. Why it hasn't died anyway? Like Testres anti-wii posts, they are not funny anymore.

I guess you havent been following me for a long time, you wouldnt want to get banned again would you?

Wii is in decline, but don't pretend interest in the other platforms is accelerating either. PS3 purchasing rates per user are barely set to be above Wii purchasing rates this year, its just that PS3 is at record hw levels while Wii is in its second decline year.

You have to remember, there are virtually no consoles in the history of gaming that have averaged more than five game purchases per year. So the fact that Wii is on pace for a 165m sw year (including bundles) means that it has anywhere from 70 million active users purchasing slightly more than two games per year, to as few as, if people really don't use their Wiis, something like 30 million active users purchasing five games a year on average.

My impression on the Wii arc is people buy 3-5 games year one for Wii, 2-4 games year two, 1-3 games year three, 0-2 games year four, 0-1 games year five on average. After five years most people end up with 6 to 15 games - with far more on the low side, which is why the attach rate overall is consistently around 8 games / user lifetime.

I think that's correct for typical nintendo gamers. But people like me who were nintendo minimalists and people who were blue ocean new gamers I think the number of games is lower. Something like 3 to 6 games.

Well that's too bad. I really enjoyed Okami for Wii.

As for the dust comment, well... the software sales speak for themselves.

I have yet to remember a positive thread about the wii from you in all these years in VGC. I may be wrong though, but I doubt it.

BTW I wasn't banned. I just didn't log in a long time because of my job.And don't be so sensitive

Yes, you and me got banned at the same time for attacks on each other, but this time it's you attacking me so that's why i'm telling you to not speak if you are not informed.

I have been paying attention, and see the same posters getting touchy when even one slight thing is said against the Wii. So it's thrown back towards one (or both) of the HD consoles. I'm not saying that I agree with the notion that motion controls are of somehow, less importance. But I wouldn't tit-for-tat just because I disagree with that statement, either.

If what was said about HD graphics is true, why are visuals (in general) still a hot topic? No matter how much people choose to ignore it, in the age we live in, visuals do matter. Otherwise, the HD consoles would have been obsolete from Jump St. Halo: Reach, for example, would have kept the "outdated" Halo 3 engine and gone on from there. Insomniac wouldn't be busting their tails to make sure Resistance 3 can compete with other PS3 exclusives.

Obviously, if motion controls were of less importance, Sony and Microsoft wouldn't have jumped on the bandwagon. If people stopped and thought about that, you'd see just how your response to that idea is just as irrational, which is my ultimate point.

Lastly, I'm not sure what you mean by the 360 was on the wrong side for so long. Perhaps you could elaborate further.

Edit: I'm not looking to just battle over words, or we'll be here all day. I just think people shouldn't get so touchy over this, especially when this isn't the first nor last time the system will receive this type of treatment.

Personally I think MS was on the wrong side of the physical hardware issue. We had _years_ of almost 1/4 hardware failures or even worse. That is bloody unheard of. Despite that the X360 was able to keep pace because of good games and a top notch online experience.

Finally, with a hardware refresh that wasn't just some motherboard/CPU shrinkage behind the scenes, it looks like the hardware finally matches the software. Which, along with aggressive pricing, is why X360 is doing better.
