It's funny because so many different people have said the *exact* same thing. It can't be a total myth...

Shouldn't you copy/paste for 2011 the same thing? |
Not exactly.
2011 (which we are nearing with giant footsteps, so I can already hear the voices) will be:
3rd parties 2011 - the novelty of motion controls actually hasn't worn off, we didn't realize it before but they're actually as cool as ice cream, but the Wii's controls aren't "strong" enough for the games we want to develop (deja vue anyone?), and no one else develops for the Wii anyway these days except Nintendo, so why should we develop for it?
Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin
| foxtail said: Ready at Dawn is practically a Sony 2nd party developer, they're composed of some former members of Naughty Dog. The only other games they have developed are the Sony titles God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP), God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP) and Daxter (PSP). |
And Okami (Wii)
@Nintendo fans
why would you want this guy to tackle the Wii? , its not a punching bag you know!
- Wasteland - The Mission.
you fans are still complaining, I would imagine you would get used to it by now. Personally the guy isnt totally wrong, if he has a Wii and got tired of it, whats the problem??? Why are you guys takingit so serious, its one guys opinion. i wouldnt say my Wii is collection dust but It doesnt get anywhere near as much use as my PS3 or PSP( thats not counting the bluray use)
@oni-link you should have never said that about Colors, now Wii just lost a sale cause im going to wait for the superior HD version, im joking I like that game too much to wait even if it was true (which i dont believe)

I don't think you can really prove the motion novelty has worn off. You could easily argue motion gaming is bigger than ever.
NIntendo is using motion technology as much as they always did. I can't think of any Nintendo Wii games that doesen't take advantage of the motion technology.
As usual you're spewing nonsense I say. Nonsense!

Well kinect and move will likely spur some interest in it before they too collapse from lack of interest. As for nintendo. mario, donkey kong, kirby all use it to a small extent. Only zelda is really utilizing it in any big way.
Time for hype

Hmm, I guess Sony and MS are in trouble then, since they're banking on that worn out novelty for the future of their consoles.
Motion controls are not a novelty, they are another step in game control. It's like saying rumble or analouge sticks are novelties. Just because most developers (including Nintendo themselves at times) haven't implemented it well yet doesn't mean they never will. It's simply still in its infancy so it is often done poorly and uninspired.
Anyways, in response to the original post: believe it or not, I don't play the Wii much either these days, but in all fairness I don't play my Xbox 360 much either, besides the occasional Gears. I have Assassin's Creed 2 and Dead Rising 2 both on standby and I have very little desire to play them. Even my most anticipated 360 game this year, Fallout New Vegas isn't motivating me enough to buy it yet. I guess console gaming is just not doing it for me much these days, especially the single player games. Nowadays I mostly play online multiplayer, and the single player games I play are either retro or on PC (Starcraft, Diablo II, Minecraft, etc).

Again the Wii collecting dust? I believe we never would hear that thing again. Oh well, the ol' good days :)
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever
Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe
Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

They don't have a large repertorium of catch phrases to say.

Above: still the best game of the year.
So Nintendo's d0med, once again. Marvelous.
