On a more general note, 2010 has been enormous for VGChartz as a business. We have a proper office now in the UK, the number of staff has more than doubled since the start of the year, revenues are up significantly and we have been making a lot of close friends and allies in the industry from advertisers to investors to analysts and publishers. In short, things are going well and once we can re-launch the sites (and get gamrTV finished) we will be in great shape.

ioi you know, we're a sales site. We want numbers

Yes, this will all be fixed so we have non-js versions of everything to be fully browser compatible.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!

If I am able to run this site perfectly with Blackberry, I don't think I will ever leave this site! Also congratulations on all the expansions.

I would throw my name in to the mix, but honestly I can't help you on the east coast (12 hours away from New York). If you need more DB admins, I would love to throw my name into that! :P

Could the focus be less on Vgchartz as a news/review site and more as just a sales site? I'm not saying that those things aren't important, but news/reviews/editorial sites for videogames are a dime a dozen, and it's a crowded market. I just don't see true growth for Vgchartz coming from something that a lot of both big and small sites already do. If I pictured an ideal future for this site, it would be one with a huge emphasis on data rather than stuff that can be found anywhere else. Vgchartz should be like Metacritic, not Gamespot. Like BoxOfficeMojo, not Rotten Tomatoes (well that one isn't as good of an analogy but I think you get the point).

NPD is being incredibly dumb, and it's opened up a huge opportunity for this site. Vgchartz could become the BoxOfficeMojo or Billboard of the videogame world. But it can only do that if the focus remains on increasing the availabity of information and opening the site up to new markets. For example, one way to grow Vgchartz would be to provide numbers for certain regions in particular (such as Africa and East Asia), and help make the site faster and quicker for people in those areas that don't have fast internet connections. Vgchartz is a diverse, worldwide site, and I think we should continue to work towards making it even more open to new audiences.

Another worry for me is organization. If new features are going to be added to the features that we already have, then I'm even more concerned about clutter. I really do think a simple, clear, and quick format is the best way to go. Filling the background and every conceivable space with ads and banners slows down the site. I don't work on the design or coding, so I feel bad criticizing, but I think that should be the biggest priority.

I've also posted another set of suggestions (although probably just a rant), in the complaints/suggestions thread. Definitely worth reading:

I think it is important to diversify. While focus on the core business model (sales site), it is also vital to offer more services and more features for the site users. I am pretty sure ioi did market analysis or two, and thought this would be one of the best ways for expansion.

Add: I do agree that one should continue to master the core business.

Additional Add: ioi, maybe in 5 years down the line, when I am fully into my field of marketing, I will really try to help out with the site in big ways.

This year is up about 90% on last year which was up 80% on 2008 which was up 290% on 2007. So a nice steady growth...

You must be really pleased and those figures show you are taking the right approach for with out a healthy revenue stream along with an increased exposure we members would not have the benifit of a dynamic site ,but be sitting here stagnating still thinking its 2007 so hats off to you.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Well the problem is growing in a market where other sites get exclusive interviews/previews/news that other sites can't get, and the biggest ones get the best information. It's a hard market to grow in. I think there's a huge potential for growth with editorials and opinion pieces. If Vgchartz hired someone that was very articulate and creative to help write editorials, I could see it providing a lot of growth.

Well I'm very much looking forward to all the improvements. No rush though, I'm a patient man. :)

I would like to see at least a little integration between vgchartz and gamrconnect if I'm being honest. My two cents.

I miss the comments bar to the side of each game's sales, along with the graphical sales curves. I don't know if these things are already in consideration but I thought I'd just bring them up here since I had them on the brain :P

I survived the Apocalyps3

well this is my favorite forum website and pretty much the only website i have open all day. keep up the good work!!!
