This Gran Turismo will not sell nearly as well as the last three. If it is lucky, it will outsell Prologue. In America it will definately not sell as well. People are just tired of this genre. Music games anyone? I'm sure that it will sell better than the latest rendition of Guitar Hero, but how much more can you improve this genre?

Another one for the bookmarks.

Just another thing to point out...

I'd say 8.5 mill

3mill by the end of the year

2.5mill next year

1 mill each year after :P

you do know GT4 cleared 4million in its 3rd week, it had a march release in Europe.

You predicted 2.2 million for Japan for GT5 right?

Vgchartz is predicting an opening of 500,000-550,000 copies.....MGS4 opened to 480,000.

GT4 opened to 670,000 copies in Japan and went on to sell 1.1 million , not even double its opening. Which means if Vgchartz is accurate with its opening then GT5 will be lucky to sell 1 million copies.

Did you know on PS1 FF outsold GT, on PS2 FF outsold GT. FF13 sold 1.86 million copies.....

How do you feel about your 2.2 million prediction?

lol someone predicted 1.1 million opening in Japan and 2.8 million lifetime, yet these people put me down for my prediction of 1 million which evidence goes to show is alot more possible than anything over 2 million.

Give it a rest Ginyu, your not going to alter his opinion, and he won't alter yours.

P.S. According to VGChartz, GT4 sold 1.26 million in Japan, and opened to about 674k there. So just under double week 1 sales. Americas wasn't much different with a total of  1.53 million, and an opening of 771k.

Yet here it says 1.26 vg needs to sort some things.

P.S. According to VGChartz, GT4 sold 1.26 million in Japan

And also according to Vgchartz it sold 1.1 million.

Anyway has anyone seen the Gamespot hour long video on GT5, ive only seen 10 mins myself but they certainly dont sound too enthusiastic for it. The pretty slow loading even after full install, having to install the same thing twice, only premium cars having interior views, only being able to take photos of premium cars, the car he was driving at the start he commented looked a bit ragged and it didnt look all that.

So its reviews could end up being nothing special at all.

Wow, but which one is right? Wouldn't make an arguement about it, someone should inform VGChartz about this difference, so they put the proper value up.

Wait... Only prenium cars have interior views? but aren't there only 200 prenium cars? Does that mean that when I race I will be force to have a hood cam on 4/5 of the cars?

I also agree with you, reviews MIGHT not be that special. 6-8 million is a very real posibility. I mean how many people here thought GT PSP would sell so poorly? Thats a great racer for those who have played it.

All I know is the general consencus is 9-11 million, but 8 and 12 million are possible situations. 6 million and 15 million are unlikely, but possible.

I also know, I will love this game. Several of my PS3 friends already bought GT5 wheels. I'm going to look at a fantec multiconsole porsche wheel so I can enjoy the best of Forza AND GT. However for a PS3/360 model it's quite expensive. ($300, so probably not for me )

GT5 opened to 670,000 copies in Japan and went on to sell 1.1 million , not even double its opening. Which means if Vgchartz is accurate with its opening then GT5 will be lucky to sell 1 million copies.

GT3 opend at 564 and sold 1.89M

Nice cherry picking of numebrs.

Did you know on PS1 FF outsold GT, on PS2 FF outsold GT. FF13 sold 1.86 million copies.....

So ?

Back then FF was a premier game in a rpg dominated market, it in every way should have out sold GT.  But FF13 is far from great.  Would be no surprise to see GT out sale FF this gen given the unfortunete fall from grace FF has gone through.

How do you feel about your 2.2 million prediction?

Quite safe. GT5 will be the game to get for PS3 buyers year or two down the line, no racer will challange that.  FF13 became a afterthough not long after release.

lol someone predicted 1.1 million opening in Japan and 2.8 million lifetime, yet these people put me down for my prediction of 1 million which evidence goes to show is alot more possible than anything over 2 million.

Lowest Japan sellin GT is 1.26 highest is 2.55

Average(all 4)  is 1.855

First of a gen GTs sales in Japan are 1.86 and 2.55 - average 2.2m

You posted no evidence, you just cherry picked numbers that best support your view.

If anything unbiased evidence aka math points to final number being closer to 2m then 1m.

You'll spin anything to favor an argument, especially against this game. He said you'll see a few load times, but didn't consider it a game breaker. He even mentions things returning from previous GTs that he's excited about.

If you're gonna tell a story, at least tell it accurately.

Hes a cherry picker, thast what he does.

He lacks an intelligent agrument based in reality so he twists and cherry picks info to suit his agenda.

Cool i just saw the KG GT5 ad during the Stars game.

KB/GT5/ in HD rules!!!  muahhahaha
