Forums - Sales - Will the Wii be able to outsell the Hd consoles any week this holiday?

Neither Move nor Kinect will keep the Wii from selling more than PS3 and 360 in the holiday season imo. But, like I've said many times before; holidays are just part of the equation, the sustained numbers it pulls next year will determine its fate.

I already made this prediction long ago, and I still stand by it...

I do not believe the wii will outsell the XBOX 360 or the PS3 this holiday season, even with a $50 price cut...

the move may steal a lot of wii sales, and kinect may still a lot of wii sales as well... already the wii is in it's lowest point ever since it has begun selling, and kinect will only make it worse for the console...

I still think the Wii will do just fine this holiday season. Let's be realistic and look at the current sales. Even without big games, and exciting new peripherals, the Wii isn't that far behind the 360 and PS3 in weekly sales (about 30,000 or so), and PS3 has gotten Move and all the Move-related games, and Xbox has gotten Halo, etc. I think the Wii will be just fine this holiday.

Bah!

i hope so i hope it can do it the majority of them i believe its really crucial for the wii to do well this holiday season for the gaming future

it does have a few things coming up 007 DKC red wii and COD BO is also releasing on it as opposed to last yr were COD was only HD

and i wouldnt be surprised to see many sales and bundles for it to help it further

next yr though will be a different story ill be rooting only for the PS3 to own the holidays

i think it will be Wii`s toughest holiday season so far. i can see it selling better than PS3 - even in Japan, with the help of the Mario bundle, mario collection game, kirby and DKR - but selling better then Xbox360... that will be hard. Move may have been successfull  (Wii Sports Resort is still selling better then Sports Champions), but Kinect will really push the Xbox360 - in the states and in Europe.
It will be the Mario bundle, DKR, Epic Mickey, Goldeneye and Just Dance 2 against Kinect and it`s marketing push.

It will be tough for Wii to fight PS3 and Xbox360 this year.

Starting november, Wii will outsell PS3 all weeks except the GT5 launch week and the next one.

But against X360, Wii will lose it will win only 3 weeks the others 360 will win.

That is what i believe.

Imho Wii and 360 will be roughly tied in weekly wins while PS3 may only take two or three around GT5 launch.

well if it gets another price cut that will bring it to a very low price, and no more price cuts will be available for wii, i think this would be a mistake as it will boost wii but only for a year, after which it will die out much quicker than what ps2 did.

the problem is newer technology is out for people to get now and i think move has proven it has already started to break wii, wii is at the lowest it ever has been, even software sales for wii party should have been around the normal 200k range, but instead it did nowhere near that amount, the fact wii sales and software sales are at their lowest is a sign that wii is no longer the thing to get for this year.

when kinect comes out it will deal even more damage... maybe ninty should make a wii slim console

I'll be surprised if the Wii isn't on top from Black Friday to the end of the year...

MS is setting up what looks to be an unprecedented (as in new console level) marketing campaign with Big Names. People will be steamrolled into buying Kinect instead of Wii, whether they want it or not... So you might be surprised (though I hope not).
