I mostly agree with game overthinker, but I will watch the rest of the video to form a fully opinion. I generally believe in the right to resale.

Well this is why we get a COD every year, a FIFA, MADDEN, NBA, MBL game every year.
Gamestop/EB games (gamestop owns EB games) are bad but lucky EA are doing something about it.
Have you picked up a EA game lately, and want to go online then you have to import a CODE. Hell did you buy it used and now have to get a Code to play online. that 10 dollars you pay is EA profit on Used games they are trying to do. And if nothing changes Every game will have it from Activisons Call of Duty (they will probably go pay to play soon) to Ubisoft.
DLC: why the hell is DLC in every new game??? Because DLC is big profit for Publisher and console Maufacture.
hell that right the Console Manufactures are suffering as well. See there consoles are bigger and more powerful and hard to manufacture, so for most the time they run at a lost with exceptions to the final years when parts become cheap. The big Manufactures make most there money from Game sales. They take there cut from every game sold on there system. And they need it more than Publishers. Because if they are losing too much money from consoles they will shut down the division , Nintendo will go into Publishing, Sony will continue with TV's and other Electronics and Microsoft will move back into Software. These corporations dont depend on Video consoles to run.
simple pay the few dollars more and buy new.

I believe he is not against the right of resale he just is pointing out the GS,EB Games and others like them have to much control over it.

Yes I actually watched it fully, I understand his point, and I agree with it.

I've said it before and i'll say it again, people using places like gamestop to buy and sell used games astonishes me...return on investment is near null...but places like Goozex...wish they were more common and people actually knew about it..
Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...
Well I came to this conclusion years ago. I was always trading games in for more used games. I realized that in the end a few months later I'd want the old game again and in some cases rebought the same old game used. I realized that for the little amount EBGames was giving me that I should hang on to all my games.
I no longer trade in games, I also don't buy used games from anywhere but my local independant game store.
But to boycott EBGames altogether is impossible for me. I tried I stopped shopping at EBGames for about half a year. I'd go to pick up my game from BestBuy /FutureShop etc...etc... and the game would almost always be out of stock. For game consoles I had to camp out for like 16-hours to get my hands on a new system. I waited about two months to get Pokemon and similiar time for Animal Crossing etc...etc...
Where as when I resorted to going back to EBGames I could pre-order the game I want and I get a guarantee it will be their at launch. I still shop at BestBuy and other retailers but If I know the product I want will be in short supply then I have little to no choice but to pre-order from EBGames.
Lately some big titles can be pre-ordered from BestBuy or FutureShop. But they only pre-order a few select games and usually don't take pre-orders till like a month before the product comes out making it a major gamble not to pre-order from EBGames.
EBGames is usually the only place that gets the products I want when I want them, its a sad truth they do have a monopoly.

lol he brings out his "this has nothing to do with Gamestop" line and then proceeds to base his entire "revolution" on boycotting the store and encouraging others to do the same.
A number of his points are rather misleading. Yes, Gamestop bases most of its business model around buying and selling used games, but what choice do they have? Gamestop barely turns a profit on most new games, and unlike big retailers, they can't rely on other products to keep their head above water. Does Gamestop pay very little for used and mark up a lot? Yes, but keep in mind that no one is forcing you to sell used games to Gamestop ... Amazon, Mega Media Xchange (in some states), local mom and pop shops, and, now, Best Buy will also take in used games. Lets not forget that you can sell used games yourself through Ebay and Amazon. At Gamestop you are getting less back yet people still sell there all the time because it is more convinient than the alternatives, and that costs you.
In regards to the industry itself, it is just sad. I am not the type to have boat loads of sympathy for the poor old game developers. Every other form of media has to contend with used sales and pirates. The solution, in my opinion, is not to take away our ability to actually own our games by transforming game developers into a giant rental service (which is what digital distrib will do), but actually give us incentive to own our games again. For example, I am going to pick up Call of Duty Black ops day one because I know I will get well over $60 worth of entertainment out of it. When I finish the story there is multiplayer and when that gets boring there is zombie mode ect. ect. When I consider the fact that I will get a lot of entertainment value out of a product then $60 new doesn't sound so bad anymore. This is one of the only thing I like about JRPGs ... 50-60 bucks gets you over 100 hours of gameplay. A game doesn't need to have a uber long story or extended multiplayer to make me purchase tho ... if it has a GOOD story and is memorable enough then I will never sell it. They can have my original copy of Silent hill 2 over my dead body.
The jury is still out on EA's solution to all of this for me at least. I suppose half digital distribution and half retail still lets me own my game ... sort of.
Let's not forget that Gamestop also gives out an incentive for getting games day one with preorder bonuses. Most of them are garbage I know, but it is something at least. Keep in mind I am not saying Gamestop is perfect, but making them out as the root of all evil in the game industry is absurd.

you know gamestop mark up like all retailers by 100% giving them room to move down in sales. So Gamestop is making around $30 dollars off each new game. Yes they make 50 dollars from used games but if the entire industry sold new games only and not have trade in and only have small period of time you can return the product as safe measure like EB games return in 7 days policy.
MW2 sold 4 million in day one and probably 2.5 million was gamestop/eb games so making 30 dollars off every game thats around 90.5 million dollars revenue off that one day and probably make a profit of big bucks. So they can make profit off new games or else they wouldn't Be doing the business of Selling New games and just be an Used game shop.
Whats wrong is the fact that they are buying a new game for like 30 USD and selling it for 55 USD while new is 60 USD. Now this is bad because the most common sense is you buy the used game.
I Say Ban the Model, Sell only New games, and provide a rental service on all games and for each game rentaled the Publisher/devoloper get a cut and Gamestop get a cut. or we will see more devolopers shut down as Publishers relie on there Big Studios to pump out "safe options" bleeding there franchise's to death
Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
I like GOT which makes it difficult to say that he's off his rocker on this one.
Who sells more used games, Gamestop or Ebay?
Publishers haven't got the balls to go after ebay. Gamestop offers a service for people who no longer find entertainment in that 20hr long piece of plastic on their shelf.
The problem has arisen from devs who want to make 20hr interactive storybooks. Films are rented, games never end.
