you know gamestop mark up like all retailers by 100% giving them room to move down in sales. So Gamestop is making around $30 dollars off each new game. Yes they make 50 dollars from used games but if the entire industry sold new games only and not have trade in and only have small period of time you can return the product as safe measure like EB games return in 7 days policy.
MW2 sold 4 million in day one and probably 2.5 million was gamestop/eb games so making 30 dollars off every game thats around 90.5 million dollars revenue off that one day and probably make a profit of big bucks. So they can make profit off new games or else they wouldn't Be doing the business of Selling New games and just be an Used game shop.
Whats wrong is the fact that they are buying a new game for like 30 USD and selling it for 55 USD while new is 60 USD. Now this is bad because the most common sense is you buy the used game.
I Say Ban the Model, Sell only New games, and provide a rental service on all games and for each game rentaled the Publisher/devoloper get a cut and Gamestop get a cut. or we will see more devolopers shut down as Publishers relie on there Big Studios to pump out "safe options" bleeding there franchise's to death
Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
