Well I came to this conclusion years ago. I was always trading games in for more used games. I realized that in the end a few months later I'd want the old game again and in some cases rebought the same old game used. I realized that for the little amount EBGames was giving me that I should hang on to all my games.

I no longer trade in games, I also don't buy used games from anywhere but my local independant game store.

But to boycott EBGames altogether is impossible for me. I tried I stopped shopping at EBGames for about half a year. I'd go to pick up my game from BestBuy /FutureShop etc...etc... and the game would almost always be out of stock. For game consoles I had to camp out for like 16-hours to get my hands on a new system. I waited about two months to get Pokemon and similiar time for Animal Crossing etc...etc...

Where as when I resorted to going back to EBGames I could pre-order the game I want and I get a guarantee it will be their at launch. I still shop at BestBuy and other retailers but If I know the product I want will be in short supply then I have little to no choice but to pre-order from EBGames.

Lately some big titles can be pre-ordered from BestBuy or FutureShop. But they only pre-order a few select games and usually don't take pre-orders till like a month before the product comes out making it a major gamble not to pre-order from EBGames.

EBGames is usually the only place that gets the products I want when I want them, its a sad truth they do have a monopoly.
