Forums - Sales - EMEAA Sales UP!!!

i'm not worried about wii party sales. i expected a slow debut. sales will increase more and more as christmas approaches. haven't people learnt anything? look at the debut sales of mario party 8 o just dance. they both opened worst than wii party, and both ended up with more than 2M in EMEAA alone. besides, wii party is bundled with a wiimote, so even after the end of the holydays effect , it should stabilize on 10k-20k for week, in a way similar to wii play.

the effect on hardware sales will not be immediate. but wii is a party console. and the holydays are a party season. a lot of pople will play this  and many other games (just dance 2, Goldeneye, DKCR)in parties, will have fun and buy a wii afterwards. it will be a slow but constant grow from now to christmas, and it won't be the effect of a single game but the combination of many.

Those games aren't comparable at all. Mario Party wasn't popular in EMEAA before 8 and Just Dance was a random piece of shovelware that inexplicably caught on with the masses. Wii Party sold only one third of the next lowest selling Wii series game (not counting Chess for obvious reasons).

I agree with you in that it will keep selling, but a hardware mover it is not. Don't make fish through old threads to find examples of people saying it would outsell everything else combined times 10 this holiday.

Extremely POOR launch for Wii Party IMHO!

Actually, not really. Mario Party 8 opened with 32K too and ended up with 2 million. No one really expected this tittle to sell 200K first week or sell like Wii Play (aside for some crazy dudes).

EDIT: some extra information: although Wii Play opened with 123K, it was released 8 December in EMEAA, in the  the holyday season, alas Wii Party wasn't. Also, correcting my previous information,  Mario Party sold 28K first week, so Wii Part did better than it.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Disappointing numbers for Castlevania and Enslaved..... well good news for me, since it seems they'll hit the bargin bin very soon it seems!

1-Those games aren't comparable at all. Mario Party wasn't popular in EMEAA before 8 2- and Just Dance was a random piece of shovelware that inexplicably caught on with the masses. 3- Wii Party sold only one third of the next lowest selling Wii series game (not counting Chess for obvious reasons).

4-I agree with you in that it will keep selling, but a hardware mover it is not. Don't make fish through old threads to find examples of people saying it would outsell everything else combined times 10 this holiday.

1- While it wasn't ultra-duper popular, I'd hardly call 2 million unpopular.

2-Why it is shovelware? Because it doesn't have HD grapix or because girls play it?

3- Only crazy people expected it to sell 300K or whatever FW on EMEAA, it was obvious it owuld perform more like Mario Part than the like the Wii sereis, since Wii Part is in fact, it's spiritual sucessor. Also, I can easily counterattack this argument by saying that Wii Party sold 3 times better in Japan, and will sell even more later.

4- I doubt it will move hardware too, but it will help somewhat during the holyday season, not selling "10 times" more than anything else, but it will help to sell more Wii Remotes.

Also, I think you should care more about how Castlevania and Enslaved flopped, you guys only want to take the attention on how a Wii game opened "bad" while those 2 HD games flopped reeally bad (and unlike Wii Party's legs, nothing can save them)

Above: still the best game of the year.

VGChartz has Mario Party 7 lifetime at 120k! Compared to Wii Sports Resort at 8.2 million. Poor damage control.

@ Beuli

Shovelware, in this context, refers to software that's been thrown together quickly on a low budget in order to make a quick buck.

Wii Sprts Resort sold better than Wii Party. I shouldn't be surprised b/c it is Europe and it only has been 2 days.

Very sad at both Castlevanie: LoS and Enslaved sales number on both X360/PS3 in Europe. Shame on you Europe!! 2 of the better action games to come out in months and no love. WTF! :(

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

Just because it has "Wii" in the name doesn't mean it is a Wii series for really. It is a lot more in line with the Mario Party series and that's obious. And what if Mario Part wasn't popular before 8? What does this has to do with it?

Above: still the best game of the year.

I'm not concerned about Castlevania and Enslaved. I expect second week to be higher than first week and great legs for the rest of the year.

Plus both should do much better in America.
