Everything kinect-related is quickly rising on the amazon charts , the device, many games, the 250GB xbox360 bundle.....and we are still almost a month away from release with no real mainstream marketing from MS (TV spots) .  The kinect launch will be glorious AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT.

What, did you sic Dracula on those baby seals or something? Jk.

OT: I honestly don't know what to make of this...maybe both undershipping and strong demand?

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

It depends really on if the problem is on the supply end of the chain or on the demand end.

If it's on the demand end then yes this is good news for MS, if its on the supply end then no its not.

I still think it's purely a marketing trick. I just can't imagine casuals being so aware of Kinect that they go to game stores and pre-order a peripheral gaming device months in advance.

Well if you ever been to a Gamestop you would know they beat you over the head with pre-orders. Maybe casuals are becoming aware!

It takes all the civility I have to not yell, "Back the fuck off! I just want this cheap used game!"

They feed you bull crap like, "Better pre-order now its gonna be impossible to get unless you pre-order. Your kids will hang themselves if you don't get it this Christmas."

lol!

Well in our game stores in Sweden they don't push much stuff on you. You won't get harrassed. But if you go to a car store or electronics store we have the same as you describe - you have to avoid getting within a 5 meter radius of the store clerks or else they'll grab you lol.

So I get your point, it's not a bad theory.

Seeing two people with dog avatars discussing something is...funny, in a way.

Simple, Microsoft is only producing an Small amount because its probably break in low instead of big if it flops and lose big. So they could sell out and this could be bad as if the wait is long then people will forget about it and the hype will die. So who knows.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Well we don't know how many were avaialable....20k...100K....300k;...150 million?

Hard to tell.

Could be that, 3 weeks before launch, certain retailers have to finalize their guaranteed units for launch and thus stop taking preorders at a certain time.  This may be the case with Kinect.

Or it could be that demand is right in line with the projected 3 million that at least one MS exec made.

We'll just have to wait and see ...
