A year after its release, the PlayStation 3 exclusive Demon's Souls has become Atlus U.S.A's most

successful title in the company's two decade existence, the publisher announced today.

Atlus celebrated the game's first birthday today by thanking fans for their continued support of the title.

The publisher did not disclose sales figures, however.

"If ever there was a game championed and made a success by its fans, this would be it," Atlus said.

"Here's to many more groundbreaking online action role-playing experiences."

"Your support over this past year will never be forgotten."

The publisher said it will honor the occasion by splitting the world tendency into two events, starting today

by shifting it to Pure White until October 18. The rest of the month will be shifted to Pure Black.

Demon Soul's recently became a PlayStation 3 Greatest Hits title.

The game's developer, FromSoftware, recently announced a new, multiplatform game that's similar in

style called Project Dark. The game will be out next year in Japan.

Sony must be kicking themselves over not publishing this themselves.

I'm still trying to learn and like this game. I got my copy like 2 weeks ago, so far I have beat the first boss (Phalanx) and got stuck because a lady tells me to go to the monumental and I don't know where/what it is... (my english is not very good either and I might have got it wrong). She says like "Monumental awaits thee..." I don't know what is 'thee'.

I also feel a bit too lonely playing it. Any tips on online play or something like that so I can play with someone?

"Thee" means 'you'.

simple answer: go up the stairs and at some point you'll be at a circular floor looking fown on where you were.  He's up there.  You aren't quite far enough for online play, but you're close.

ATLUS PS3 exclusivity is the way to go. While Demon's Soul's is a an amazing game I can't help but think it benefitted from being a Great game that was an exclusive.
