Some soundtrack action from Castlevania.

So far the most beautiful level in Castlevania (I'm only in Chapter 2 of 12 total) and one of the best looking environments I've seen on consoles. Enjoy!

I agree, the game is awesome, completed chp.1 and about half-way in chp.2, the graphics are pretty awesome, though I wouldn't throw it with U2 and GoW 3 just yet(must play the entire game game imo)

the battle system kinda resembles God of War's(somewhat similar  ground combos) and somewhere between the lines on NG and Dante's Inferno's air combos

the music is very pleasing, specially the mini-boss and boss fights, I have the PS3 version(didn't know the 360 had a collector's edition...would've gotten that)

the only thing I dislike is the fixed camera, it really can be a pain when looking for gems and scrolls, also when in battle it will sometimes will seem that the enemies or their projectiles will come out of nowhere, and since I'm playing on knight difficulty it gets me frustrated at times.

anyway I would recommend this to any castlevania fan, it might be different but it still retains the classic castlevania feel(mostly do to the music)

The game is simply amazing . First of all it is huge and really makes you feel like you are on an epic quest. I must have dedicated over 25 hours in it and i am still in chapter 10 (it has 12) . The variety in locations is breathtaking , i've never seen anything like this in an action game ,

The gameplay is also extremely varied and changes constantly. The first part of the game (the lycan world) is mostly GOW-like affair with a bit more platforming thrown in , esp. in its second part. The second part of the game (Vampire world) is more classic castlevania in 3D, having lots of platforming, exploration and devilish puzzles .

The third part is mostly a combination of the first 2 parts, in terms of gameplay.

The game throws a lot of bosses to you and is quite difficult so that might piss some people off. Some rooms are extremely frustrating and take a lot of patience to escape from. Lots of old school/hardcore stuff in terms of design .

Did i mention the art ??Breathtaking, the sights that you'll see in this game are fantastic. From the big Castles of the vampires to the brothers Grimm-inspired level of the witch this is a feast for the eyes. The fact that the game is technically excellent with great graphics certainly helps but it's the art that makes it stand out.

The music is also fantastic, epic stuff. I've turned all the way up in the audip menu and slightly lowered the volume of sound effects so that i can hear it better during gameplay. It switches to from epic "battle" tunes to sentimental "mellow" ones .The speech of course is top notch with some great actors in there.

All in all this is one of my favourite games ever and i have to congratulate mediamercury and Konami for making such a long and satisying experience in an age when 6-8 hour single player campaigns are the norm for everything non-rpg and downloadable content is the regular thing to prolong these 6-8 hours games. The fact that this super long game has NO REPEAT LEVELS WHATSOEVER and no backtracking only makes their achievement greater.

There was a better soundtrack from LoS that I heard, can't remember the name, but it was damn epic.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

arcane_chaos, as far as I know the PS3 version has its own collectors edition as well.

It's such a beauitful game. I gotta have this game for the environments alone.

You can go back to any chapter or section to replay and find things you have missed or replay them once your experience and abilities get more advanced so you can explore areas you previously couldn't.

Sounds almost kinda sorta Metroidvania-esque.

@darth: STFU!

For the defense of GOW though this has a lot lower framerate. What I read from neogaf it seems that this runs with 25fps. GOW was 40-60fps usually. Still very beatifull game and looks a lot of fun. probably will pick this sometime as I love hack'n slash games.
