Lets just all hope critics don't rate it down for silly things like having no "online" and so on.

But like other's said the preview vibe for DKCR has been much better than NSMB Wii.

Most importantly we get pre-orders today....hopefully its gone up!

What? It doesn't have online? My critic's score goes down to 83, please fix it.

Just because there's no online multiplayer, you're detracting 11 points from your original prediction?

NSMBW has a Metascore of 87, despite the lack of online play.

Besides, I don't think online multiplayer would work that well in DKCR. Online MP is perfect for competitive games, but games like NSMBW and DKCR are more about teamwork, which requires communication between players.

It's no fun, when immature players join an online game just to wreak havoc upon their teammates, or to yell obscenities at other players through a headset.

Mario Kart and Smash Brothers are games, where every player fends for him/herself, with everybody attacking everybody, a formula which works very well in this situation. But when you've got multiple players working to achieve a common goal, as is the case in NSMBW and DKCR, it only takes one bad banana to spoil the barrel. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

Someone's sarcasm detector is severely broken.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Guys.......

WE NEED TO TALK!

I agree. Should we start squads to spam in threads and walls to pre-order the game?

Maybe we should

all I know is I didn't expect these pre-orders after a 14 year wait for this game.

Aww, cut me a break, sarcasm can be pretty hard to distinguish from idiocy on the Internet these days. >_>

Don't worry, the true test is if it as legs. If it just falls short and dies it will be a flop, but if it keeps selling contantly, it will be considered a sucess (although people will say it failed because of weak week one numbers). My biggest fear however is Japan, look at firts ten weeks:

Japan

Week 1    -   407,456

Week 2      -    315,715

Week 3      -    223,821

Week 4       -     305,036

Week 5        -     345,946

Week         -    163,299

Week 7        -     204,116

Week 8         -       88,607

    Week 9       -      60,267

Week 10       -          60,680

It's gonna be hardcore to push numbers like this, it would have to be a revival as good as NSMB Wii was to Mario to achieve those numbers. I have faith in Nintendo - and Retro - they could do it for the Mario and they can do it for DK.

Got i would hate it!

Yeah it looks better but without the 4 player mode in NSMB which is simply hilarious! However for a single player platformer, i think DKCR looks waaaay better

NEW EXTREMELY POSITIVE PREVIEW FROM EXAMINER.COM

http://www.examiner.com/video-game-in-national/hands-on-donkey-kong-country-returns

Donkey Kong CountryReturns felt amazingly nostalgic but fresh. Retro seems to have taken all the fun Rare crafted in the ‘90s and somehow made it even better than the source material. If you have any reserves about Retro not delivering a rewarding experience, put those worries to rest because Retro has, once again, successfully breathed new life into an aging franchise. Donkey Kong CountryReturns has the makings to be the best DKC title ever made.

Donkey Kong CountryReturns is set to release on the Nintendo Wii on November 21st.
