Forums - Nintendo - Can 3DS handle the visuals form this Iphone game?

This is Epic Citadel, a game from Epic Games for Iphone 3G, 3GS, 4, and iPAd.

It runs on a special version of Unreal Engine for the iPhone.

Can 3DS handle this visuals?

Edit: typo lolz at the title. "from"

I think it can. What 3DS lacks is resolution...on the rest it seems really a powerful console (look at MGS3D demo and Resident Evil).

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

If those specs from IGN are right then no it doesn't (biggest problem is lack of RAM). Although it's pretty stupid to compare 3DS and Iphone in the first place when one costs 600$ and other will be 199-249$.

I doubt 3DS will be $199-$249..

considering it's using a very advanced 3D tech that isn't even out for tvs yet..

mM

IMO It can; With its big jump in graphics from the DS, I know nintendo wont dissapoint us. Since this is a next-gen hanheld, the the wii's sucessor has to have more powerfull hardware; I never heard of a hanheld in the same generation, overpower the the home console.

What is your prediction? For curiosity sakes.

I thought the 3DS' tech hasn't been used in TVs yet because it isn't practical.  Because, the 3DS' 3d only works at a specific spot (the sweet spot), which is fine for one or a couple of people (on phones, 3DS, etc), but would be a nightmare on a TV were you could have potentially a lot more people.  But I'm not sure though.

I think the 3DS will retail for about £175 ($273.61), given that the DSiXL is currently £140 ($218.89).

Anyway, on topic I think the 3DS can handle those graphics given that it is in the right hands

Gee, I dunno, can 3DS handle a big UE3 environment with baked shadows/lights, heavily repeated textures, clever load to mask pop-in and absolutely zero characters/interaction?

The answer is no... and that's because Mark Rein would likely sooner commit seppuku than allow UE3 to be ported to 3DS. ;)

That's only 80 Megabytes. Give me a break.

But it looks really good! Why is it free?

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Its possible but i doubt it.
