Good idea.

While its a not the same genre, it can easily get lost in the fold of titles coming.

But now its being release in the same month as Mass Effect 2. I'm sure Bioware and EA is happy with that.

EA actually two major releases in Jan next year. Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2. I doubt however that either will affect LBP 2's sales and visa versa

Well LBP2 is now the major release of January. It could have an impact on those EA games.

We can assume Sony fans will be incline to go with LBP2 as well.

Could be. But I think that those games don't have a major overlapping fanbase. Like Dead Space 2 is a horror shooter whit Mass Effect 2 is a RPG Shooter and LBP 2 is Platformer. In this situation however, Mass Effect 2 could be in a disadvantage in sales because there's a bigger chance of Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2 fanbase overlaps than LBP 2 overlapping them both and the fact that ME2 is a year old port.

Sony fans bought God of War 3 and Final Fantasy XIII in the MILLIONS this March.

Why wouldn't they do the same for LBP and whatever else they want?

Bad move. This game NEEDS the holiday sales.

But I don't really mind cause I'll have GT5 to keep me busy and the extra cash could go towards Epic Mickey or something.

Yeah, I'm not really sure how pushing it to January is a good move, especially since early 2011 is stacked with PS3-exclusive titles while Holiday 2010 really wasn't stacked to begin with. Is Gran Turismo 5 Sony's only major release for this upcoming season now? Sure, PS3's upcoming holiday season has some great games coming out... but the majority of them will also be on the 360. I guess Sony is hoping that GT5 and Move really differentiate the system for the holidays... LBP2 would have helped out very nicely.

Well, more months of polish means a better game in the end, so not all is lost. Still, I'm sure the game would have appreciated the holiday seasonal boost.

But yeah, good choice on Epic Mickey.

Good point, because Final Fantasy isn't anything special...

No history is mega sales in that franchise. Nope!

No histroy is mega sales in that franchise. Nope!

And yet it didn't harm God of War 3's sales in the slightest.

Proving that games can launch in the same month without harm...

God of War has a history of great sales as well.

Anyhow, i'm just saying LBP2 is now the big release of January. It may over shadow other titles of that month.

Just my opinion.

as much as I want LBP2...this might make me cancel my pre-order,,,,will still get the the game though.

Sony is the worst decision maker on the face of the planet. Are they seriously going to cram their games to first quarter, lose the holiday sales for LBP, and let GT5 be the only major exclusive they have for the holiday season? I wish I could slap some sense into them.

Ask me about being an elitist jerk

Time for hype

As sad as I am about this, this does clear a little space for all the other games that are coming out at that time.

lbp2 is fucked now, no casual swarm, and competing with kz3 motorstorm killzone infamous 2. damn sony!! this is worse then the ps3s launch price. they should seriously push some games back. people have said many times that ps3 has no games, and now that it has thousandes its going to hurt it. the fanboys are always true, thats what i learned today.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good
