I don't see how the Wii is an "us or them" system. That seems to be just what the haters decided it is, including developers.

You might not see it but come on, if a game thats about looking after dogs etc sell more then a proper game that you made ie Red Steel 2, what would you think?, lets make mopre of this cheap dog games....

Just being "proper" is NOT the same as selling more. RS2 is not the kind of game that deserved to sell millions.

I never said it was, but do you think looking after babys or dogs etc does?

The problem is assuming that the DS/Wii audience can only like those games, when games like Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros are also hits.

And don't give me Chinatown Wars, as those ads blew chunks, and drove off people who would have bought it more.

It's not really a problem though. As they make games that sell well on Wii. It's just not the games that YOU want to sell well on Wii. The expanded audience don't seem to mind getting random party/fitness games or whatever to go alongside Nintendo's software.

They don't HAVE to put the big games on Wii... As the Wii audience isn't really demanding big games when they buy games like "Carnival Games" in the millions.

If Nintendo showed more enthusiasm for getting big games on Wii, then maybe the big games would be there. They did it with Monster Hunter Tri... Offering advertising and bundles, and it worked out REALLY well for both Nintendo and Capcom. Aside from that though, I can't really think of anything on Wii where Nintendo have acted keen in getting 3rd parties putting big projects on the console. You know more about Wii software than I do though so... If there are more examples, please, tell me.

Lol, the whole post was calling you out for excluding the PlayStation family from your next gen dominance analysis (Come on Carl, I know you're anti-PlayStatoin, but come on. Come on!). Seems VGChartz wont let me alter any of your assessment.

What makes you think Nintendo didn't try harder? Did you miss Reggie asking over and over again for more big games and the developers brushing him off?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Wow. One guy simply asking for games on the console is trying?

If Jack Tretton tomorrow releases a statement saying "I really would love it if Epic Games would put Gears of War 3 on PS3... Infact, I'm asking now. Please guys, let PS3 have Gears 3!"... Does that mean Epic SHOULD let PS3 have it? Simply because one guy asked? No. It doesn't work like that.

We have no evidence of them actually trying. They're hardly even attempting to create the audiences for those types of games themselves.

You can't comprehend that I only meant that figuratively, and that it was merely meant to be an example of Nintendo trying?

And he said he was making efforts to get those games (which did NOT limit itself to asking nicely). Do not tell me that isn't evidence, unless you think he's lying, in which case, you'd better have proof he is.

Where's the proof that he's really been trying hard though? There is none. Just as there's no proof to say that he's lying (I'm not saying he is lying btw)

I don't see it on the software side of things... So he can't have been trying that hard.

You obviously haven't seen the 3DS line up.

His efforts, and those of NCL, were best redirected toward 3DS and their next console.

I disagree.

Supporting 3DS is simply a no-brainer. It's the follow up system from the soon to be best selling videogame system of all time. It's guaranteed to sell absolutely tons.

You don't need persuading to make games for that system.

Your own logic doesn't hold up.  If it didn't need persuasion, then why does the Wii considering it's the fastest selling console in history (faster even than the DS).  Shouldn't massive support for Wii be a no brainer?
