It's not really a problem though. As they make games that sell well on Wii. It's just not the games that YOU want to sell well on Wii. The expanded audience don't seem to mind getting random party/fitness games or whatever to go alongside Nintendo's software. They don't HAVE to put the big games on Wii... As the Wii audience isn't really demanding big games when they buy games like "Carnival Games" in the millions. If Nintendo showed more enthusiasm for getting big games on Wii, then maybe the big games would be there. They did it with Monster Hunter Tri... Offering advertising and bundles, and it worked out REALLY well for both Nintendo and Capcom. Aside from that though, I can't really think of anything on Wii where Nintendo have acted keen in getting 3rd parties putting big projects on the console. You know more about Wii software than I do though so... If there are more examples, please, tell me. |
What makes you think Nintendo didn't try harder? Did you miss Reggie asking over and over again for more big games and the developers brushing him off?
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
