Well it will happen, personally I am wait and see of kind of guy (going to see how the holidays are before passing judgement), but yes the early spin is entertaining.
Namely entertaining from the users who made certain types of threads in the past week.

name me ONE single reason why the Move would cause PS3 to outsell the Wii. I'm not saying PS3 can't start outselling WIi but if it does it will be for reasons other than Move. Why would an average consumer pay 200 more dollars to play motion controls on the PS3? Even if they're more responsive? Most mainstream consumers don't care and the Wii's success isn't just because of motion control its because Nintendo perfected how to target that demographic with software and advertising as well. I think Move will be a great success BUT really does nothing in terms of taking sales away from the Wii. |
The wii's success IS because of motion controls without them they would've been another gamecube.
Why do I have the wii?Because my mom that"wow motion controls OMFG"
a lot of people think that way.

Videogame Forum Hype =/= Real World Hype.
And I watch Television a lot, and saw 2 PS Move adverts. In comparison, there is a Halo Reach advert on almost every ad break on Sky Sports.
OT:
Pretty good numbers IMO. Nothing to scream and shout about, but still... Better than I expected (I was expecting 100k first week).
Bear in mind that this is 2 days worth of sales, and only 2 regions... It's pretty good.

No. Its because of WiiSports and WiiFit. The Wiimote and BalanceBoard are only part of their experience. The games themselves created the craze within the mass audience.
This is what Sony and MS are missing, they don't have that game everyone wants.

I think kinect has one of those games, but we have yet to see how effective kinect will be. (The Dance Genre)

Yeah, I did forget about that one and that game may be a big hit just as 'Just Dance' was.

Not particularly. We didn't with EyeToy, either. It went on to be massively successful. As people saw the value when they tried it they told their friends. Their friends bought it. They told their friends. Word of mouth grew the marketplace. That's what I expect from Move as well." |
OF course they would say that. That doesn't in anyway negate what I said though.
If they turn out to be right, fantastic, but that is not assured at this point.
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS
140K is a decent #...I have played Move and as a Nintendo fan will admit that Move is a little bit more accurate than Motion Plus. Move is more accurate but for a casual everyday person Move won't do much at the end of the day since its $400 V.S $200 which is to much of a price difference for them to care about Move. Also(In my opinion) The Casual Wii games are better than the Casual Move games as of now but that could change within the next year.
