I think it was his excitement and love for the game coupled with the launch event. Those launch parties really pump you up for the game.

Awe, I think it's cool they are so excited about something. So many people live life without really enjoying the ride - I'd never fault someone for being emotional.

 Halo: Reach is the end in a way, and the peak, and possibly a new beginning.  I hope they really enjoy it.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
