On topic, Uncharted DF truly does look great for a title that came in 07. better than gears 2(graphics and gameplay)? in my opinion yes. Killzone 2 took the crown when it came. Now I would say it's between U2 and GodoW (cant decide myself). BUT Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake are definitely high graphical achievements on xbox but i believe they are slightly edged out by the other two. Im really looking forward to ME2 on ps3, i only hope the port doesnt suffer. In my opinion, Gears 3 looks to be on par with Uncharted 2 but then again, from currently announced footage of upcoming titles, nothing comes near to Killzone 3 on consoles.

Oh and how i wish i had a sick PC to check out crysis 2 and see what all the fuss is about.

I tried the same thing but with movies trying to explain why The Secret of NIMH was better looking than toy story 3

unfortunately as my 7 year old sister observed, "kids just like what their friends like and is new" after a rather hilarous argument between my sister trying to explain to her friend why games like sengoku 3, contra, and NiGHTS are better than ubisofts petz games

Back on topic, sure, Uncharted does defeat ( graphics-wise ) most 360 exclusives except for the new ones which have edged it out. But I can't really see myself arguing over the first game in a franchise as opposed to claiming graphical dominance with its sequels. 

But I'm more of a technical-type of person. Can't really see a 360 exclusive looking that great without the developers trying out something completely radical or filling up most of the space available on the DVD-9 disc with just textures.  

give me ~$100,000,000 and a dev team of ~200 highly skilled devs and 3 years and I could produce a game on 360 that looks better than UNC1&possibly2 but that's never going to happen...

Then try watching the video. Its of Gears 3. Try again.

I don't really understand the praise for the overall visuals of Mass Effect 2. It's probably my favourite game of the gen but when I look at the environments visuals I think they look average. The characters and animations look brilliant , but everything else looked normal, especially with jaggies due to the the lack of anti-aliasing.

I don't know if this effects anyone else but there is also a lack of physics/animation in the environment. On certain planets the trees for instance are completely static. Maybe I'm just picky.

This. ME2 is awesome game but I have never unterstood praise for its visuals either. Gears 2 on X360 looks better than ME2 on PC. Also if I remember right it was leo-j who said that KZ2 looks better than Crysis Warhead so when it comes to graphics I have hard time to take anything he says seriously...

Silicon Knights had almost all of that for Too Human, and they didn't accomplish what you are promising.

The character detail on Gears of War 3 completely blows away that of Uncharted 1, it's really no contest.  Add to that the the amount of AI characters that can be on screen at once and you'll see that Gears of War 3 isn't just a graphically better game it's a technically better game as well.

bah they put time into gameplay story and other such nonsense, I would put it all into making the game look good. I mean that's what's really important...
