Well actually until this year, the 360 was ahead, and only because of the PS3 Slim did PS3 catch up so quickly. The Sony brand is slightly more popular in EMEAA, but it was the slim that gave PS3 the edge.

So if Sony does re-overtook the 360, I doubt Microsoft will devise something to catch up again, there is no back and forth, Sony is slightly more popular in the region, but the 360 got a huge boost recently, when PS3 only slightly overtook the 360, and thats the only reason the 360 even gets to be ahead again. If Kinect does take off in EMEAA, 360 will stay ahead, but most likely PS3 has the region.

I agree 100% on you about Wii picking up pace during the Holdiays, for your reasons, and also for the added reason that Wii sales are generally strongest during the holidays (probably because parents buy it for their kids and stuff).

As for PS3 >360, I completly disagree. The PS3 experienced it's Slim effect until, well until the 360 made a Slim model. It's true the PS3 Slim had the old SKU to face with where the 360 Slim has the PS3 Slim to face with, but the Slim effect will not die out by the holidays. Holiday sales begin to pick up in September and October, and the 360 is still outselling the PS3 worldwide by 60k a week, or by over 30%. Without Halo the 360 Slim would continue to hold 360 sales until GT5, but with Halo, the 360 gets a big early holiday boost.

As for EMEAA, thats iffy, at best Sony can expect to match sales when GT5 come out, but until then it's still 360 territory (remember UK is heavily 360 biased, and it sells more consoles then any other country in EMEAA). However MS has Kinect, and the success of Kinect is hard to predict. It may sell as well as a good game, it may push more units then GT5 or Halo.

I don't think the PS3 will experience a lead in sales over the 360 until 2011, and even then thats a maybe. The one year PS3 outsold 360, I blaime for the Slim, and Sony can't pull that move again. The 360 has Halo, Kinect, and Fable, and all three will push more consoles then GT5, Move, and LBP2. GT5 versus Halo is debatable, but then there is also a 360 bundled Call of Duty, the slim effect, and 360 generally has been the beeter selling system in the past. NO new PS3 Slim, means 360 edge, this is not 2009.

BTW, there will be 21 Move titles by the end of the year in Americas, and 20 Kinect games in Americas. However a couple move games are simply compatible with games currently out (like Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition).

LittleBigPlanet 2 will be bigger then Fable 3 in EMEAA, but not my much (1.63 versus 1.23 mil in EMEAA), and I do agree definatly that GT5 will be bigger in all parts EMEAA except for UK. As for Kinect versus Move, I'm betting that the Kinect will be significantly more popular then the Move in Europe. I mean if it's 5x more popular in Americas (and it's actually looking to be over 10x as popular here), I really doubt that the Move will be more popular in EMEAA. I'll admit that the Kinect won't be as popular in EMEAA as it is in Americas, but at least in the order of 2x.

Anyway, you make a very valid point, in EMEAA, Sony has better products, which will likely boost PS3 sales higher then 360 sales, especially GT5. However the arguement is which system PS3 or 360 will do better in the holidays worldwide, not just EMEAA and Japan. Unfortunatly for Sony, Americas is the biggest market, one which Microsoft dominates, and GT isn't anywhere nearly as big of a franchise as Halo here. I also beleive the Slim effect will last in Americas well into 2011, I mean 360 was outselling PS3 with the old SKU before. Also Fable is a bigger game then LBP, especially in Americas, and Lionhead studios expects this one to be the best selling installment.

So I agree with what your saying, but I still think Microsoft will hold an EMEAA lead until GT5, and because of the Kinect, it will still get respectable sales in EMEAA even after GT5. In Americas, I see the PS3 being severly outsold. GT5 is big, don't get me wrong, it will sell consoles. Just 360 will be superior saleswise until GT5, and during the GT5 launch window, for a short period of time, PS3 might see slightly stronger sales then 360 WW. However Halo, and the Slim Effect will ensure that overall 360 sales > PS3 this holidays.

It may follow sales like Americas 360 >> PS3, EMEAA PS3 = 360 (or is close to this at least), Japan PS3 >>>>>>>>>> 360. However Americas is the biggest market, so.... 360 will still outsell the PS3 WW this holidays.

As for surprise announcements, Nintendo is definatly the most likely to announce something new (most likely a price cut, or a bigger bundle, a new colour is unlikely), but as for PS3 and 360 we can't speculate. If PS3 gets a price cut, Microsoft will do the same.

As for loyalties, if anything I am a Nintendo fan (not 360 or PS3). I admit I don't own a Wii, but thats simply because I'm waiting on a backward compadible successor (I think Wii games cost too much for what they are worth now). I just argue about PS3 vs 360 sales because we all know Wii is supperior, and it fights for itself. 360 versus PS3 is more interesting, and this holidays it will definatly be interesting.

Nintendo has already said that the Vitality Sensor will be out before March 2011 ends and so it could make it out for Holiday 2010.

Anyway the P.S.3 and 360 will be hard to predict this year and while America is the largest market it still isn't the only market and I expect a few 100K weeks for P.S.3 in Japan alone and with Others I think P.S.3 can outsell the 360 by a decent amount but not in the same way 360 outsells P.S.3 in America but with Japan as well Sony could take #2 this Holiday...I expect G.T.5 to be as big in Others as Halo Reach will be in America. I do agree though that Kinect should be bigger in both Others and America but I still don't think it will do to much do to price.

Nothing really you can use them for the prediction league and to buy the IM program but thats it so we can leave it out of the bet.

See if you follow GT5 sales, they aren't massive at launch. I don't think GT5 will affect EMEAA and Japan as Halo does the Americas immediatly. GT5 will push help push consoles, and sell units in 2011, but in the month or two it has in 2010, it just won't be as heavy of a hitter as Halo.

For EMEAA, I'm willing to admit that the PS3 may outsell the 360, but it will be a close call, and Japan will help PS3 sales, but it's such a small market, I mean there is only 5-6 million total PS3's there. Americas is the largest market, and worldwide, I really doubt PS3 will outsell 360 this year simply because I think 360 will dominate Americas sales, and at least come close to tie PS3 EMEAA sales. I mean 360 most likely has dominant sales until Novemeber (GT5) in EMEAA, and PS3 will rebound in Novemeber and December, but even so it won't get that much more sales then 360.

Thats why I said EMEAA is iffy, it's debatable. I'm pro-360 for EMEAA simply because I don't think GT5 will be enough. Sales for GT5 will pick up slowly (at absolute best GT5 gets 5 million WW by the end of the year, more realistically 4 million, so thats like what 2-3 million EMEAA?), and Kinect will budge 360 sales a significant amount (maybe 1 million units sold, 200-300k from bundles in EMEAA). Halo still has a decent push in 360 sales in EMEAA largly thanks to UK, and the Slim Effect will stay until end of October. PS3 will outsell the 360 in November, but I don't know by how much, or if it will balance sales from 360's superiority from September/October.

Anyway, as for Wii, I have been hearing about this game called Wii Relax. Since most Wii titles franchises come with a peripheral, I am betting that will be the game that uses the Vitality sensor. However, it's not like Nintendo to surprise announce any games, it feels like thats a 2011 title. However Nintendo said before March 2011, so who knows. Didn't Wii Fit come out in Spring? Regardless I agree with you that Wii will dominate holidays sales. 360 may come close in specific regions (like US, or UK), but in general, Wii will own. Maybe not by as much as before, but I expect the Wii to sell 16 million units by the end of the year (it's at 8 now).

Yeah but I am not counting September or October...I am only counting November and December for Holiday sales and maybe the last week or 2 of October(Whatever the last 10 weeks are) Anyway nobody can know at this point for sure even though I still see P.S.3 ahead this Holiday...but at least we agree that Wii will win for sure.

Well I respectfully disagree, even if were just considering the last 10 weeks, I still think the 360 will come ontop. Regardless we agree on the Wii comming out on top.

P.S. I always consider September-October Holidays because in September software and hardware sales begin to pick up, and a lot of holiday titles begin to come out. Halo and Move are two big games for the holidays of 2010 to me. I mean in December, hardly any games are released, all the big games release from September-November, mostly in Novemeber.

However technically Holidays are the last 10 weeks of the year. Regardless, it's going to be an interesting fall.

P.S. Year end total sales, who do you think will sell better? 360 or PS3? PS3 is ahead by i think a little over 400k, but the 360 still has momentum from the Slim. I vote 360, but not by much, maybe a million at best.
