From the movies I've seen It has: Bad dialog and acting and a story elements that have been used 100 times.  Should of put all the energy and resources into actual game play.  Very short cut scenes like when she sees the guy she knows and hates.  Facial expressions would be enough to convey hate and my imagination would do the rest.  But no we can't stifle the important creative voice of Yoshio Sakamoto.

I want her to look good and kill things not be a lifetime movie of the week

I know I am in the minority

Skip button?

think I read somewhere that you can't skip the cutscenes. Well, not on the first playthrough, at least. I'd be more than happy to be proved wrong, however.

You can't but WHY do you wanna skip them?

So I can Play the fuking game and not have to hear bad dialog.

It makes the game uneven with fits and starts

Why do people who make these games think they are writers of great dialog and makers of great movies?

Just program and let us use our imagination

Most people don't have imagination. And a hour and a half of cutscenes is a bit below averige, when compared to other action-games.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

(sigh) I SO wanted to beat IGN to the punch reviewing this game...

why?

@mhsillen

The story is a crucial part of this metroid though and will aid in you feeling the game in the most complete way possible.

because I should be the one the whole internets go bonkers for when I write a review : p

Well, I don't mind playing a rather cutscene-heavy game once in a while, if the writing and voice acting are tolerable. In Metroid: Other M, they are not, at least from what I've seen so far. So it'd be nice to have the option to skip some of the cutscenes if I want.

ohhhhh your writing the review for this site?

I hope you score the game for what it is instead of, "omg omg samus speaks...I take away 2 points from the game for this reason!"

did you notice previous metriods told the story without vomit inducing dialog and numerous cut scenes.

To me the cuts down on my playing time

great score? that is not a great score, it's really low for metroid, shame on you ign. I hate you and ***2 hours of cursing**** and you're biased

***gets a knife****

Well if you think THIS is low

DO NOT see gameinformer's and 1up's score...

I already did.... but this is different it's ign!!!

I'm looking at gametrailers score now, it will be fun because they were the website that hyped this game the most

well as far as Im concerned, I dont care if Samus speaks or not, but I always figured she spoke alot (mostly due to one of my 1st Metroid games being Fusion and she talked quit a bit - in text of course)

but ya my review copy was delayed, as supposed to have ti a few days ago actually...

Why?

The game has been made like this, any play time you see lost is based on an assumption that they shouldn't have cut scenes

But cut scenes seemed to be a plan from the get go for this game.
