Your right about the 180 thingy.
But these subtle things you see while playing are REALLY AWESOME and PS3 buyers of ME2 won't get that moment of realisation
Also the Rachni Queen thing COULD be a 180 degrees thingy if I think my prediction for what will happen regarding the Rachni Queen in ME3 is true.

Wall of text.. not really aimed at your replay, but to the decision making whine overall.
I've even played ME2 without continuing with my savefiles from ME1, and pre-set decisions are made. You don't have to be the one who decides the outcome of every little thing in order to enjoy the next installment. The only thing you need from ME1 in this case is the story, if you want to know the background to some things in ME2. But as far as decision making, it will not have such an impact that any gametime on ME2, and later on with ME3, will be unplayable due to lack of ME1 on the PS3. A quick YouTube video can bring you up to speed.
The lack of ME1 decisions, that most of the people seem to whine about on different internet forums, PS3 only gamers will miss out on, don't account for much.. really.
Its nice and all to go all in with the RPG elements and act as if you're Shepard and feel like its the same Shepard you built from ME1, but as for PS3 only gamers not being able to enjoy ME2 or ME3 without ME1 is just wrong. Like i said, pre set decisions for people who never played ME1 is made in ME2, and those will be transfered into ME3 together with whatever you did in ME2. So if you didnt do an active choice to kill Wrex in ME1, ME2 will claim you did and the rest is history, and PS3 ME3 will most likely not suffer from you not making that decision.
Look at inFamous for example, decisions made often turns out the same in the end, its just the way you approached them that makes the people affected by them act differently, but you'll end up in the same place no matter what you do. The dialogs might change but the game will not.
Another refrence is to the game Dragon Age Origins, a game that actually punished you if you made a bad decision. If you say the wrong things levels won't open up or you'll have to do huge boss battles that other players just talked their way out of. And those decisions either gives you better items, saves you items, robs you of items and/or allies you've counted on in you're style of play. You dont see any of that in ME because ME is far too casual in its decision making compared to DAO. And that's why the decisions from ME1, or lack thereof, won't really matter in PS3 ME2.. or ME3.
