I recieved a warning for this post:

"Oh, my console broke! I shall reward this incompetence on the part of Microsoft by buying another Xbox 360! For the fourth time! The more that break, the more sales they'll get. This shall surely encourage them to increase their build quality!"

responding to this section in the OP:

"I think it’s important that you understand something here dear reader, this is not my first Xbox 360 purchase. It’s not even my second, or third. It was in fact my fourth purchase of an Xbox 360 console. All previous 360′s I have owned fell to the dreaded RROD."

The moderator said to me:

"You are receiving this message for violation of forum rules regarding Trolling (Whether or not the GameStop story is true, you don't need to be trolling the 360 like that.)"

Now, I believe what I was saying was i) true, ii) responding to the OP's statement, and iii) worth bringing up, because I do believe that rebuying dead consoles is encouraging the manufacturer to continue with poor quality products.

In your view, does my post constitute trolling? I wish to avoid warnings in future.

Who's the mod? lol

This isn't a confrontational topic and I don't want to make it into one.

I wouldn't say it was trolling the 360 personally...

I would say it's an unneeded rant though. And could be interpreted as trolling/flaming 360 buyers.

read it before and decided it was not worth reporting. Can't really disagree with the mod's decision though.

Boo!

Have you ever received other warnings in the past or were you ever banned?

Because sometimes, history can influence the way your posts are interpreted.

No. That's why I am confused, because the post wasn't intended to troll.

Apparently on this site sometimes "trolling" can just mean saying something a mod doesn't personally agree with. But people always trip out on power, as insignificant as it may be.

My favorite was when they changed the site look and then mods started threatening people with the ban hammer just because they stated they did not like the new design.

i wouldn't worry about it.  the definition of trolling is becoming increasingly strict to the point no one wants to post.  and if no one posts then you can't post responses and therefore can't get banned.  really it's a win/win for everyone.

OP is trolling. Stop it!
