It is easy to say that the decline in Wii software is due to a lackluster lineup of games; we think that is largely true, but note that the PS3 and Xbox 360 lineups were also relatively light. Year-to-date, Wii hardware sales total 2.7 million, compared to 1.8 million PS3s and 2.4 million Xbox 360s, so it is difficult to blame the year-over-year Wii software sales decline on poor hardware sales. Instead, we think it is becoming apparent that the average Wii owner is just buying less software than his PS3 and Xbox 360 counterparts," Pachter said.

Maybe because last year there was Wii Sports Resort? Maybe because there were no new games released for it in the last 8 Months that sold any hardware? And aside for that, why does he keeps doing "analysis" that a 5-years old could do? Someone shut him up please.

EDIT: Nintendo should just leave the hardware business and go third party.

In the end though... It's Nintendo's fault that the Wii is experiencing the sales it is now.

The Wii's had "no new games released for it in the last 8 Months that sold any hardware". Who's fault is that then?

The Xbox 360 and PS3 haven't had any major individual system sellers by the same metric for over 12 months. I don't see anyone saying that their hardware performance is hampered by that fact.

No? How about God of War? Final Fantasy? Heavy Rain? Mass Effect?Red Dead Redemption? Granted, maybe they weren't big themselves, but combined with price cuts and new models releases, togheter they lifted up Hardware sales, The Wii only had one release since the holydays, SMG2, and it didn't move a single unit. The Bundle with Resort and Motion and Black skin didn't help sales a lot, only keeps them of getting down more. Only software will help the Wii. And mark my words: August will be worse than June for the Wii, as September will be lower than August. In Octube sales will get unpredictable, it might be up or down, but still won't be much of a difference. The change will come only in November and December.

SO how the hell does that say 'doomed' to you anyways? It means the HD twins has a chance of doing well this holidays than wii..with Reach, GT5, Kinect and Move that's more than reasonable to think. That doesn't mean they think wii is doomed or anything. Again only you Ninty fans have been muttering this wii is doomed nonsense all over the place. Freud would be proud of his work.
