Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Soul Calibur Legends, 58.3% on Game Rankings

Wow, who could ever have thought that the Soul Calibur franchise could go from a high 96.3%, with Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast, to 58.3%, with Soul Calibur Legends on the Wii. Perhaps the wiimote just didn't offer the tight controls that a controller, like the Gamecube controller, offers. If that's the case, than I guess it's a good thing that Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be played with a Gamecube controller. Than again, I still kind of want the wiimote to be used with Brawl, other wise it will be just another Melee. So, have you played Legends? Why does it miss on so many levels?

Aren't the problems more the developer than the control options?  Just like Lair...

The game is not your typical SC game. Nevertheless, the impressions were never that great. They just dropped the ball on this one.

Perhaps. It's probably a combination of both. Must be, if it's only at 58.3% on Game Rankings.

Soul Calibur Legends usually received compliments because of its controlls, but typically was slammed because of how repetitive it was and how (generally speaking) poorly everthing else was handled ...

Well developers do not seem to take time to make good Wii games. They just port or put stuff together thinking that we are stupid enough to buy there games. there is really only a few good games developers that try to make all there games good on the Wii that they make.

Nice, but I assume that the motion sensitivity of the wiimote itself will not be implemented into the game, which dissapoints me. Perhaps the motion sensitivity has yet to offer the tight controls of an analog controller. Oh well...

Because SCL was developed by the lowest-tier development group available at the company because it's a Wii game.
